I disagree on all counts. MAYBE Boys Boys Boys because she had the world by the balls at the time and probably could have smashed with anything. DITD, I know it's a fan favorite, but it's a mediocre song. Heavy Metal Lover is a highlight of BTW but was not going to smash on radio. Venus and Aura are dire flops waiting to happen. Regardless of the fact that they are great songs, the only part of Venus that works as a single is the chorus, the verses are horrid if you're not a monster. Same thing for Aura.

What's up with fans thinking Aura or Venus should be singles? I don't care how much you like a song, you just know when a song isn't single material. Yes, Aura and Venus have amazing choruses but they can't sell completely off a chorus alone. I love Bloody Mary, but I would've never chosen it for a single because of the most obvious reasons.

Imagine Gaga in "The Door of Branderburg" and start singing the first line :nooo:

I imagine something like Fame commercial, dark, black, with Berlin and that historic gay club Gaga sang Gypsy in and created Bad Romance :nooo:  And she would mount on the gay army and control them like a strong independent woman, and they all would be covered in black slime

Oh no!the possibilities

People have a hard time distinguishing between songs they love and songs that are hit material. :ohwell:

The fact is that Venus was going to be a single.. Also, I wrote in the 1st post that the single choices were not my idea (except for Aura), but these songs were speculated to become singles. And people have their own opinions :ohwell: I agree that Aura shouldn't be a single though

I sense it would've been an epic and super-edgy video, and a feminist anthem

I agree with you. Maybe Boys Boys Boys didn't have the potential for being a single. But Dance In The Dark, for me, is one of the best songs Gaga has ever made. It should have become a single. I think they have really made a big mistake on not using it comercially. If I was Gaga, I would put Dance In The Dark on the next album just to make it a single. hahahaha

Haha agreed. "Dance in the Dark" is one of her best songs. I feel like it could have been a big hit. I really wish they milked The Fame Monster for all its worth lol.

Heavy Metal Lover.  Although it would have flopped terribly, I would have killed for a music video. I was so excited when the rumors started popping up after MTN flopped that it would be the sixth single.

I think I have read that Dance In The Dark and Monster had their videos recorded, because they were going to be singles, but Interscope gave up on that. Am I crazy or you have also read something like this?

Ugh, that would have been amazing. I've always wished more songs were released as singles from The Fame Monster.

SO MUCH THIS 2zqaplu.jpg

DITD is my alpha favorite, but I think it was logical to leave it and not put it between Alejandro and Born This Way

Welcome!

I was talking about songs that could've become singles seriously. These songs were not my choice or preferences, I've read about them in different parts of the forum. But I guess we could also talk about songs that we wish were singles.

I suspect that DITD could've become the 4th single. but they decided to move on to BTW, especially given partial similarities of Born This Way song to DITD

I really wish GaGa would have postponed Born This Way and continued with The Fame Monster. Everything was going so well. She should have taken advantage of that.  :(

Lol yeah, but that's why I wish GaGa waited a bit longer to release Born This Way. DITD could have been huge, and a perfect way to end The Fame Monster era on a high. Oh well.  :P

I am normally surprised by people thinking their faves could be singles.  I think there is a lot of delusion.  Aura is my favorite tho, and I *like* to think I can see it pretty objectively.  I admit the song is too short, the intro is too long, and the lyrics don't make too much sense, and the theme may not be received well atm, and she shouldn't talk about burqas necessarily.  But if you changed all of those things about the song, I think it could be a hit.  Maybe.  I think I'm just in love with the beat.   Maybe you're just right tho.  F***.  I still want to love Aura.  But as a single probably won't happen now.  Must. be. objective.  $#*&  #&$^!@   :emo:

It's the saddest part of Gaga's career for me - unrealized success. But those what if's won't help. I think she, as a highly creative person, didn't wish to stay with Fame theme anymore (TFM was like an addition to The Fame)

She was very ready for BTW era
