If you really love/like someone you should accept him/her as s/he is. Would you really want to get closer with a person that always criticize you? I don't think she afraid of criticizim, because if she would she she wouldn't act like gaga. She just can't conciser someone that is constantly critisizing her as her fan, because if you're a Monster, it means you must like something about her, but instead of that you concentrate on the negativity, the things you don't like about her, i think that's what she tries to point it out. Ok now try to imagine you are gaga, you have millions of fans, a high expectation of your music, art (videos, performances, etc). As you can imagine the workload is pretty tense, a lot of work goes into it, but every detail every flaw you have is gonna be magnified by fans, by the media, by haters. Internet magnifies this a lot. Internets power is so strong that even the biggest lie can be turned into a truth. So if you'd be Gaga, and you'd trie fight off the lies and try to spread love, in a media world that can use its power against you, in a world were fans are more obsessed by charting than enjoying music itself...it would be hard. I think she took a lot of criticism in the last 5 years. Now she can't take anymore, because too much negativity blockades creativity. This is all a bunch of fluff. Every major artist works hard, every major artist gets tons of criticism, but none of them have this problem. ARTPOP isn't exactly the first album by a major popstar to slightly underperform. The album didn't even do terribly, it just got lukewarm sales and reviews. tho I see some points I agree on, I think you underestimate the job of entertaining a bit. Its not like everything she does is 1,2,3 done... And the album, I didn't even cover it in my response, Everything about the album being a flop and underperforming is so exaggerated by fans and the media. I get what you're saying, but when you're close with someone, whether it be a friend in real life, or a pop star that you don't personally know but you have a strong connection to, you're not going to gush endlessly about the things you love about them. For example, if you had a best friend who was hilarious, and their sense of humor was one of the reasons you loved being their friend, you wouldn't just randomly tell them everyday how funny they are. It's just not how relationships work. I think Gaga should just inherently know that anyone who takes the time to make an account on her fansite is going to be a fan of hers that cares about her. As you know Gaga has struggled with depression in the past and alcohol/d--g abuse, which is still a daily battle for her. Being happy and loving others is important for her... she doesn't need to have everyone tell her what she's doing wrong. She doesn't need and want that kind of negativity in her life.
