I think its the open vowel of DOPE. You has a more closed vowel sound and more powerful that way. Maybe I just have to get used to it since I listened to I wanna be with you so many times... For anyone who has ever battled addiction and the struggles of balancing a relationship with addiction - this is totally how it feels.
