SMO 54
Am I the only one who didn't really care about Prim? I was shocked, but she always seemed like such a minor character to me that I didn't really care too much. I'm a horrible person. Minor character? The entire time, Prim was the reason Katniss kept fighting. The reason she volunteered to be in The Hunger Games. It seems to me as she plays a huge role in the story. For the most part, I liked the ending of the book. It seemed ideal for the situation. I don't blame Collins for not making deaths more dramatic. Katniss had already experienced so many other deaths of people close to her, it simply became a cycle. Anyway, she is in the middle of a war, she has more important things to do than sit and cry while the Capitol tried to kill her. Also, don't forget that she made a book in memory of the people who died. The only things I wasn't happy about the end was that Gale 'got a special job in District 2,' then was never mentioned again. Also that Katniss voted yes for another Hunger Games.
Parka 1
It is now expected that THG will, domestically, surpass Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Pt. 2 at the box office :legend: THG has earned only less than $500,000 in 31 days compared to HP in the same amount of time. Which is astonishing, since a large amount of HP's gross was from the 3D bonus. Through and through, this means that total in the US and Canada, more people have seen THG than Harry Potter. :legend: :legend:

ryhanna 3,507
I get what she represented in the story, but as a character I feel that she was just so easily disposable and minor. She's there for the sole purpose of driving Katniss, but rarely had any other role in the story. Minor character? The entire time, Prim was the reason Katniss kept fighting. The reason she volunteered to be in The Hunger Games. It seems to me as she plays a huge role in the story. For the most part, I liked the ending of the book. It seemed ideal for the situation. KingAlanI 3
I think focusing on the main character (and less on the other characters) is a consequence of first-person narration, at least the way Collins does it. Prim thought of reverse-hijacking Peeta. Once Katniss settled on Peeta, she made a point of brushing off Gale. Lasnight at the GLAAD Awards, Josh Hutcherson revealed that he would like to have a gay son. http://www.eonline.com/news/marc_malkin/cher_wigs_out_on_hunger_games_josh/310638 As if you guys could like Josh/Peeta any more.
