In total, it had the 4th best opening week, and the best opening week for a non-sequel. The only three above it are (in this order) The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Pt. 2, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. It has had a better opening week than any Twilight movie, and seven Harry Potter Movies. I again stress the fact that all the movies above any of THG's records were released in the lucrative summer months or during a holiday weekend. The Hunger Game's domestic total is now $189.9 million, and the worldwide total is $249.2 million. It is thus far the highest grossing movie of 2012 after just one week in theaters.
