On American Idol, Ryan Seacrest just said, "May the odds be ever in your favour." :toofunny:

Effie is meant to be the chaperone of Katniss and Peeta..she's the Captiol representative for District 12. Katniss eventually starts to like her, but a lot of that dialogue was cut.

In the book, Katniss says a lot of things to herself about her trust and distrust of Peeta. She also doesn't know if she really likes him. She initially only makes outwith him and **** because she realizes that sponsors will send them gifts if she keeps up the star crossed lover shenanigans.

That hand signal is something special to Disteict 12, and the other districts found out about it because it was broadcast to everyone during the live reaping which all the districts saw. The book explains more in depth exactly what it means

Also I just realized that in the book, Cinnais the one that tells Peeta and Katniss to hold hands at the chariot, whereas in the movie, Peeta just randomly did it.

Thank you :) I just think they should have made those things clearer in the movie for all those that haven't read the book. Oh well.

Still I dislike that Katniss was using Peeta. I get that it was part of the game but yeah........poor him :(

Kermit the frog

I've seen the movie and it was pretty ****ing awesome!

except the ending. It would've been better if they had both died

:noparty:

Definitely buying the books when the school ends.

as with Caesar, Effie was likable despite being part of the system

Johanna Mason's character was another example of the act vs. reality angle

I noticed some Roman salutes during the tribute parade (right arm pointed upward, bent at the elbow, palm facing left). You might be familiar with the Fascist version (locked elbow, palm facing down).

The Katniss/Rue hand gesture reminded me of the Boy Scout sign (that uses the three middle finders of the right hand, with different arm/elbow positioning)

Yes. , though I'm getting tired of hearing " HUNGER GAMES THIS!! HUNGER GAMES THAT!"

I'm getting tired of hearing Battle Royale ripoff this, Battle Royale ripoff that. I intend to watch BR soon and say what I think of the comparisons.

In Catching Fire, Katniss asks what if Gale volunteered for Rory, leaving her to watch Gale pretend to be in love with someone else. I might actually write out this idea, maybe with some angle besides a love interest.

In this scenario, the District 12 female tribute would probably be someone else entirely. Perhaps she would be about Gale’s age, with a crush on Gale and Gale playing along. If not a love interest, another sympathetic young girl like Rue.

Gale would have to draw the Capitol’s ire somehow. The conditions in District 12 provide plenty to complain about; perhaps some of it will slip out. Perhaps distaste for the Games in general and 12-year-old tributes in particular could be the bone of contention.

Ending of movie spoiler.

but it's them not dying which sets up everything for Catching Fire. The capitol don't like that Katniss one upped them by making it so they both survived, so they're going to go about taking revenge on her now.

I am SO ****ing pissed off right now.

****ing dip**** critics are claiming that Jennifer Lawrence was "too fat" to play the role of Katniss

http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2012/03/movie-critics-unhappy-with-lawrences-baby-fat.html

And there are "fans" who were disappointed that Cinna, Rue, and Thresh are all played by African American actors

http://www.thebostonchannel.com/r/30789240/detail.html

Seriously, what in the **** is wrong with these ****wads?!? Jesus ****ing christ....:fail: :fail: :fail:
