CrownClown 105
but, in all fairness, TFM was HUGE back in 2010, it had amazing critic reception, consistency in all of its 3 singles, quality(minus telephone) in ALL of its songs, and even so, some random american rock band ended up taking it over her, so, i guess, ARTPOP better be PRETTY huge when it comes to critical aclaim and have very good sales and longevity if wants to stand a chance that doesn't exist anymore, it's Best Music Video now(both categories were merged) Mirrors(for me) will take I really don't know how people always say **** about Telephone. It's one of her best songs, and one of the best POP songs ever. And I'm not even talking about the video
Phlop 4,773
Venus wouldn't do well in the Xmas freeze, its just not the kind of song they play around that time. I can see that now. It would slay as a 3rd or 4th single though. I actually think she can make any song work as single this era. Its not like shes singing about loving religious betrayers, gay rights, hookers and politicians, hair and bullying. Shes singing about "cool" things. Mecano 1
Its Not people bashing the song, Its only her fan base. Yesterday everybody in the club went crazy with telephone.

The Suburbs (their album that beat TFM) had HUUUGE critical acclaim and massive commercial success as well. It spent time at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The Taylor Swift win for Fearless is a thousand times worse.
Freddy 4,421
Arcade Fire are from Montreal in Quebec, the french-canadian part of Canada, please don't say they are American
What is OBAMA 0
I really don't know how people always say **** about Telephone. It's one of her best songs, and one of the best POP songs ever. And I'm not even talking about the video maybe i didn't come up the way i wanted to say it i think telephone is great, but all the other tracks in TFM are very fresh and innovative, i just didn't feel that with Telephone, that's all. it's one of my fav songs from her
AgusPop 4,064
Applause was a moderate hit (close to flop) WW. It didn't do good in the UK, Australia and France and those are already 3 of the 5 most important markets for US stars. Moderate hit is still a hit. It is far from flop. You want to look for flops? Take back the night by JT, everything from MDNA era from Madonna, Work b*tch by Britney, Your body by Christina. so true

pie-kun 1,765
Unconditionally's iTunes position is a good example for why people shouldn't be freaking out about DWUW right now. DWUW has like 10% of the radio AI Unconditionally has right now, yet Unconditionally is still falling. You just have to wait for these things to build. pie-kun 1,765
Gaga has the same thing going on with Applause to a lesser extent, it's still getting 1M+ updates on radio and is still top 15 on iTunes.
