Ozzy8923 9
Haha right. Right now, Britney's name means nothing. I kinda feel bad for Britney. Like what happened to her. FF era was so successful for her and she basically did the same amount of promo (zero). I guess it all comes down to the lead single, and her team/RCA made a terrible, terrible choice. You're overreacting. I GUARANTEE you that if Perfume was a stand alone single that was not released along with the pre-order, it would be in the Top 3. And for a basis of comparison... First Day: FF: UK - #67 US - #4 France - #64 Germany - #88 Australia - #38 Italy - #27 Spain - #10 Canada - #3 BJ: UK - #15 US - #2 France - #8 Germany - #16 Australia - #8 Italy - #1 Spain - #1 Canada - #3 Her team may have diminished potential Perfume single sales by releasing it at the same time as the pre-order, but they increased album sales, which is ultimately more important. Americano 31,061
Idk, Gaga made that mistake too but got to #2 on iTunes.

Wait....wouldn't pre-orders for BJ count as a single sale for Perfume? Or is this different?
Ozzy8923 9
Wait....wouldn't pre-orders for BJ count as a single sale for Perfume? Or is this different? Well, I myself only had enough money to buy Perfume as a stand alone song and didn't preorder the album yet, so I imagine the position reflected on iTunes is only the sales of it as a stand alone single and has no correlation at all towards the pre-order. Btrs 10
Wait....wouldn't pre-orders for BJ count as a single sale for Perfume? Or is this different? Yep. That's why Work Bitch, Berzerk, etc have been rising all day.

But ARTPOP's preorders are all counting as sales for DWUW, Applause, Venus, and Dope.... I don't know, this whole pre-order/promo single/sales thing is really confusing the hell out of me

Ozzy8923 9
unfortunately preorder does count toward itunes song position Then how is the album #2 and the song #13? I don't even wanna try to understand this. gaga's second single went to #1 After 2 months worth of pre-orders that were counted!
nick4bty 2,758
OMG i just now saw the last Kworb update. I'm not sure if Dope is falling hard or The Monster is rising fast (or both lol). The Monster is gonna be such a big hit. We can kiss that DWUW #1 goodbye. Prolly third single too
Ozzy8923 9
Oh well, the bright side of all this is that Unconditionally ended up doing worse than all of them so it's all good.
