 :worship2: THIS! Gaga is known for pushing music. Venus should be that push. Sure it might flop but it also sounds like her next potential big thing.

Yes but if it flops, she loses major momentum for the entire era. She's still trying to gain the public back right now so I personally believe a safe single is the way to go. DWUW isn't risky at all, Venus is. Hopefully DWUW will do well so she can give Venus a chance later down the line.

If DWUW is not a hit then I dint know what could save us then....it's pop perfection

And that's exactly why it won't be a huge hit/smash hit. It'll be a hit just as much as Applause was. If Gaga keeps playing it a little bit safe instead of just risky or not risky at all with single choices she won't have a smash again in the near future. Applause wasn't risky but at the same time it wasn't normal either. If she just releases a full-risky song like Venus or a full non-risky song like Gypsy she'll actually smash again.

I disagree with the fact that Applause wasn't risky. I think it was one of her riskiest songs ever, considering how strange and unrelatable those verses are. "One second I'm a koons then, suddenly the koons is me" becoming a hit was one of 2013's most shocking moments for me

The first verse of Applause is one of Gaga's biggest moments and the best part of the song!

This so much

I think I prefere the verses to the chorus

Sex Dreams, no?

It was praised for the dark undertones and it's a bit different but also coool.

And also don't forget GUY that song is seems to be crazy great and everyone was praising yesterday too

I can from now tell that Gypsy is going to either close the ARTPOP Ball or be like TEOG the last song before the last song :rip:

See, it's not risky and risky at the same time which makes it a 'hit' instead of a 'smash'. The production wasn't risky at all but the lyrics are.

She said that she wants to play the album in order on tour from start to finish, but let's stay on topic with chart discussion :hehe:
