someone explain plss :Chica:

It cannot chart in the UK's official charts. It can still chart on the UK iTunes though.

So do you think she might release Venus in maybe the UK, Europe + WW, then DWYW in the US?

I have no idea. She's announced DWUW as the second single, full stop (a.k.a. most likely worldwide)...

If she backtracks in any way now, that's going to be even more messy than changing the single in the first place. But it might be a necessary move because DWUW has no chance of charting whatsoever in the UK.

I think that if Interscope care about the charts, there's a possibility that Venus will be the second single in the UK. I don't know if they will follow that up with Europe or the rest of the world...

Also, having two different singles based on geographical locations is messy... Will Interscope be prepared to have two different singles at the same time, meaning two sets of promotion?

It's just so messy :noparty:

It doesn't matter whether the general public or anyone here cares about charts..

The whole purpose of DWUW becoming the second single was due to its success on the charts, and now it won't even fully benefit from that.

The label decided to release Do What U Want in a way that makes it chart-ineligible.

What do they mean by that?? By releasing it as a promotional single then as a normal single?

Well better her backtracking than her being irrelevant in the UK for the duration of this era tbh. And Interscope should better be ready to back it up with promo because this is probably their fault :smh:

Ikr? And I actually defended them :flop: Hopefully they just make Venus a UK+Europe single, it's probably the only sensible thing to do now.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
