Whatever helps you sleep at night in the middle of this DISASTER that is Gaga's attempt at a single launch. No stations are even playing the song, they're playing Applause. You think that's NORMAL? I just had to read through 25 pages of bull**** looking for actual information. Things only look messy to ya'll because that is how you're making it look. No one outside of this thread/fanbase thinks this is messy AT ALL, and news flash: it isn't. Who cares if DWUW is falling. It was announced as an official single YESTERDAY, yet you all expect it to be #1 with 10 million YT views and 30M AI already. Jesus christ, have a ****ing seat. It'll come back and be a smash, just give it some time. Most singles aren't instant hits, most take time to grow and branch out. This is basically every one of P!nk's singles. Even Poker Face took months to pick up while JD was still big. It's just so ****ing annoying that you all are making this appear way worse than it actually is. I think this is the key thing that I agree with. It needs time. I'm having MAJOR deja vu here. When Applause started to tumble in the first few days of release and people in this thread were claiming she was over and no one cares anymore and Katy had destroyed her career etc etc. Now look at that same song and how much it has grown since then. Do What U Want is a smash waiting to happen. If it's destined to be a hit (which I'm pretty sure it is), then it will become one in due course. The fact the audio is blocked in the first few days won't make much of a difference in the grand scheme of a single cycle that is probably gonna last a few months. It was a bit of a stupid decision on their part to suddenly rush out a single (AGAIN), and it probably ruined some of the plans they had, but if it is gonna be big then in the end it just will be... LOL It isn't a disaster. Please stop stirring up panic in this thread. She's not trying to launch a single, she's trying to launch an album. Some stations have given it spins, but Applause is still hugely successful on radio. Perfectly normal. Like I said before, lead singles are often the ones to get the most attention, and subsequent singles often take time to pick up because of this prolonged attention. Would you rather Applause carry out for awhile longer and DWUW slowly start to pick up, thus prolonging both eras, or would you rather Applause nosedive and DWUW gain 10M AI a day so both eras last 2-2.5 months? Just give it time. DWUW hasn't even been a single for a day. I know this is the us chart thread but different charts have different trends and in some cases have "far faster moving" (so to speak) charts where early promotion is key. The beats advert won't have much affect on countries where it's not being aired (I haven't seen it once yet) and the twitter "rant" won't do all that much in the grand scheme of things. I wouldn't call the video restriction a "hiccup" per se cus it could have been completely avoided I suppose, but that's minor You're right, this is the U.S. chart thread lol. Radio DJs are confused, even some fans are confused, it will only get worse when Venus shoots to #1 and Flopyscope wonders why. They HAVE to know why it went to #1! I know everyone is tired of rants like this but I haven't gone on any at all this era until yesterday.
