I adore Bloody Mary and Heavy Metal Lover but I'd never want them as singles. I'll push the most relatable songs over my faves as singles any day Either way, they're all on the album for YOU to listen to whenever you want. Agreed. Singles are meant to promote/sell albums. Smart record labels generally pick safe choices, and this makes sense. Record labels aren't going to risk releasing an extremely bizarre song. They want to make money, and need to. I'm happy with Applause. I'm saying she needs a couple dance songs that can be radio hits per era, oltherwise she's stuck with R&B, rappers, and ballads to try to squeeze out hits. Then she loses her identity. Katy's has plenty of "general punters" who don't buy her albums cause it vaguely pleasing but not special enough. There has to be a balance. Yea and there is a balance now that DWUW is a single Applause was risky, this song is a lot less risky, single 3 will probably be riskier. Thus she chose the safer route with DWUW Then again who knows with her, maybe Mercury was in retrograde again Probably.
