PlasticHo 706
I hope it hits top 10 on billboard 100. That way we can say to all of brit "army"... Gaga has just as many top 10 hits. It only took Gaga 5 years instead of 13-14! Anyone else STILL pressed that other fan bases went off and got names? Yet, Gaga is the queen of copying huh? Rant over. Bebe 17,094
I swear this fanbase has an aspergers like inability to deal with change. How can so few of you wrap your minds around the choice interscope was forced into? DWUW is shaping up into a huge hit with huge exposure. If they let it fizzle out, the would never ever ever have a chance to use it as singe again. To much buzz would be wasted. Venus is an unknown entity, it could have been a dud. Then interscope would have a dud second single and DWUW would have been wasted. This way they have a sure hit and can use Venus later. The choice is obvious, and if you had millions on the line, you would have done the same I personally think it was a foolish choice to release it as a promo, you'd think they would have learned their lesson after Edge of Glory. Oh we'll. what done is done, get used to it you babies. It's not like you can change it. Besides we're still gonna get Venus as a single, just later PS: DWUW is the tits!!!! It will do great The problem most people have is she is still going to release Venus which, as the single considered for 2nd, will probably smash just as much as DWUW has initially if not more. Do you think Venus won't shape up to be a massive hit? Do you think Venus will not get mass exposure? Considering it was going to be the second single I would be disappointed if it didn't get as much hype and it wasn't well received. I trust Interscope, although it is disappointing that the single releases this era have been so messy. I just hope Venus doesn't end up destroying the hype of DWUW by blowing up everywhere. True, which is why I think it won't be long before news that Venus won't be a promo.

monstronic 23
Is it unprecedented for an artist to have two new singles out at the same time? Would they even consider it? If Venus sounds totally different from DWUW it could be possible... I'm in 4 the "do what you want with my venus" medley performances :-)
Mister G 10,428
It is. It really sounds like something huge, and I love that. I don't care if it's "safe" or whatever, it's one of Gaga's best songs and it's more than deserving of any and all success it receives. Based on everything thus far, it looks like Gaga's goal is winning back the GP so she can rise back to the top once again since she got a lot of heat during the preachiness for Born This Way as an era. People get tired of all that. They just want a nice jam that's easy to understand and many people can relate to. I would rather her play it safe than release another song like Judas and lose everyone's interest again.

BangTheGong 310
IMO "Do What U Want" are some of the best lyrics Gaga has ever written. There is an evident double meaning throughout it, which makes it fun for the GP and super meaningful for fans. It will slay charts especially now with airplay involved. I want a real video though, not like TEOG which I feel wasn't very well thought out.
