But it's also not your problem. You aren't the guy or gal promoting the single. You're a fan. These things aren't supposed to worry you.

Do you think the general public will see this as a mess? No. They wont. They didn't know Venus was planned to be released as the second single. At this point, they don't even know what Venus is. They will, however, devour DWUW. That's all they care about.

Some of you baffle me really. You wanted a hit, you wanted Gaga to be back and make fun music.. and you're upset over this song being the second single when it's #1 on iTunes? :wtf: We haven't even heard Venus.. all we know the song could be utter crap. (Which I know for a fact it won't be) Enjoy the slayage Gaga has on iTunes WW.. jesus christ. This hasn't been the case in a while. And if Venus slays, it could be #1 or #2 while DWUW could be #1 or #2. Either way the Queen is winning..

Other than that, I love the song and R. Kelly being on it. The urban influence is making me love it. I wish Gaga would dive more into R&B, similar to Bedtime Stories. She would be good for that sound imo. I love how people outside of the fanbase are really loving it!

I WANT it to be successful.  I worry because it seems like you would pick the stronger song to be the 2nd single (aka Venus).  It worries me that they changed it.  But I want things to work out.  So hopefully they do.

I get that the GP won't see this mess.  But I wouldn't want DWUW to outshine Venus or vice versa.  That's why I think it's messy.

Also, if I was a casual fan I wouldn't worry.  But I'm not. So I do.

I just can't at everyone upset that it's an "obvious" hit. If you think that because superficially it's a pop song about s-x it doesn't fit on ARTPOP nor does it represent the theme, you are not understanding the concept. Gaga's been trying to fight the preconceived notion that pop music can't be serious or artistic (and she's been doing this since day one) and here you guys are saying because it could be a hit it's not art in pop. It's an "obvious" hit because it has a great instrumental and vocals and it's r'n'b influenced which is kind of popular now. None of those things prevent DWUW from being "art-pop." It has Gaga's signature double-meaning lyrics which are also twice as significant because both of these possible meanings (assault and bullying/tearing down) are relevant to her! She keeps this up throughout the entire song, not just one line! It's just as deserving as being on ARTPOP as any of the other songs on there, and I'd say arguably more deserving than a couple of songs.

Then again, this is the fanbase that wanted MANiCURE to be a single, so :derpga:

Given its multi-format appeal, yes, it is. And aside from that, it sounds way different than all of her previous singles - which is a good thing. It's not the usual "Gaga" song written all over it, and it's the reason why it has so much potential to smash. Its appeal transcends this fanbase, something you'd want for a successful single.

I swear this fanbase has an aspergers like inability to deal with change. How can so few of you wrap your minds around the choice interscope was forced into? DWUW is shaping up into a huge hit with huge exposure. If they let it fizzle out, the would never ever ever have a chance to use it as singe again. To much buzz would be wasted. Venus is an unknown entity, it could have been a dud. Then interscope would have a dud second single and DWUW would have been wasted. This way they have a sure hit and can use Venus later. The choice is obvious, and if you had millions on the line, you would have done the same

I personally think it was a foolish choice to release it as a promo, you'd think they would have learned their lesson after Edge of Glory. Oh we'll. what done is done, get used to it you babies. It's not like you can change it. Besides we're still gonna get Venus as a single, just later

PS: DWUW is the tits!!!! It will do great
