We'll see if Interscope backtracks on DWUW as the 2nd single if Venus outperforms it on the charts. Not here to hate on DWUW but I'm really hoping for meltdowns. Interscope-sized meltdowns. Why would Gaga put a song like this on ARTPOP if she knew it did not portray the message of the album? If it portrays the message as an album track, it does as a single too. wecouldbeARTPOP 0 Posted October 23, 2013 Share Posted October 23, 2013 i actually do really love dwuw, its catchy, i like the message behind it, i find it kind of empowering, etc etc. im just really upset about how it became a single in the first place; on a whim, strictly under the influence of success. venus was chosen as the 2nd single for a reason and she was preparing a lot for it, so stick with it! its such a spineless move. had dwuw been the 3rd single after, i wouldnt care. for some reason...I don't believe you lol...it seems ppl always find something to complain about in this fanbase... nothing personal It's not that I don't like DWUW. I do. A lot. I've listened to it on repeat since it came out. I just don't like the rushed/unplanned switch to an official single when they already had an official single chosen and ready. It's just messy. sometimes life is like that... Some of you baffle me really. You wanted a hit, you wanted Gaga to be back and make fun music.. and you're upset over this song being the second single when it's #1 on iTunes? We haven't even heard Venus.. all we know the song could be utter crap. (Which I know for a fact it won't be) Enjoy the slayage Gaga has on iTunes WW.. jesus christ. This hasn't been the case in a while. And if Venus slays, it could be #1 or #2 while DWUW could be #1 or #2. Either way the Queen is winning.. Other than that, I love the song and R. Kelly being on it. The urban influence is making me love it. I wish Gaga would dive more into R&B, similar to Bedtime Stories. She would be good for that sound imo. I am excited for/semi-stanning for VENUS, however, I doubt it will have the mass appeal the DWUW is having..just a hunch IMO "Do What U Want" are some of the best lyrics Gaga has ever written. There is an evident double meaning throughout it, which makes it fun for the GP and super meaningful for fans. It will slay charts especially now with airplay involved. I want a real video though, not like TEOG which I feel wasn't very well thought out. true...I want a chill, aesthetically orgasmic video...classic gaga style...but a little champagne popping/and club scenes would be nice too...like videos from the early to mid 2000s...giving me high school teas ahaha i do love the song, but with my rollercoaster of emotions this past day i havent been listening to it as much lol. i just dont like how dwuw became a single over something that sounded like a more interesting song, i mean, serve the planets, earth serve the gods??? that sounded much more compelling to me. (Not insulting you I'm just making a point) no i totally agree, and leading up to this era i have been nothing but open minded and accepting to gaga's creative decisions, but right now im a bit skeptical. i feel ive earned that right to be skeptical though, i've done nothing but stay behind her decisions, but that's when i thought ARTPOP was gonna be more....ARTPOP than what it seems at the moment. ill give it time tho.
