I was so worried after Swinefest. Unlike most users on here, I thought the new songs were some of her weaker material from her career. But this... this... ...is the Gaga I fell in love with. And even though things have been messier than I had hoped for this era, it feels so good to finally feel for the first time in a long time the sense of amazement that I used to get from Gaga. I don't care WHATSOEVER about the stupid charts. This feeling was all I wanted all along, and now I've got it. Done. Happy, happy, happy. I'm pissed off honestly. I love her to death but i'm pissed off. I liked DWUW but while it is a good song, to me it was just an appetizer while we waited for the meal proper. The experience has soured over the song for me, i hope that changes, but it is how i feel right now. i agree with you so much. honestly, like i can't even put it into words. I've been using GagaDaily as my #1 Lady Gaga news source, since "Bad Romance", and I have randomly checking the forum every now and then since... like a year ago. I really appreciate, as a fan, all the good things that this website has made for Gaga and her career. I mean: all the "certify Gaga" projects, it is really lovely. I have always admired the passion that people who administrates GagaDaily pours into this site (I mean: the fashion section! I always thought it was insane how they always spotted her fashion choices, it's impressive), but the level of rudeness, aggressiveness, and ignorance of the users here is already too much for me to deal with. Logging here, literally means being exposed to a huge amount of negativity, and drama, that I certainly do not want in my life. Most users here do not care about music at all. They care about her popularity, her financial success, and her image. If most people like her, they will like her, if the GP doesn't like her, they won't . Users who are calling Gaga a hypocrite for releasing "DWUW" as a second single due to its commercial success, are the same who claim to be afraid of "having another Judas, TEOG, or MTN". The funny thing is: they say "Gaga shouldn't care about charts", yet they HATE on everyone of her songs that fails to become a hit. "Judas" is an AMAZING track, and the video is GLORIOUS, it is 100% Gaga, and it's brilliant, just like "Marry The Night". There's NOTHING "messy" about them. In fact: those are her best singles ever, in terms of artistic quality (together with "Applause" and "Yoü And I"), yet you constantly dismiss those pieces' merits. Only because they underperformed. Several users here are only chart fans, popularity fans, and GP's reception fans, not Lady Gaga fans. Most of you only seem to care about the marketing choices, the chart positions, the commercial success... it's ok if those are your interests, but I'm actually here for the music, and the art. I can deal with having to defend Gaga on FB or some other places, from haters. But I am certainly not willing to stress over tolerating so much hatred on Lady Gaga's main fansite. This site isn't about music anymore, nor about Gaga, lots of you come here only to let go all your daily frustrations, vomiting negativity in every single thread. In every thread, every day, the are rude remarks, violent posts, extremely overly dramatic statements... it's really insane and it's completely out of control. I stopped visiting certain sites because of the hate that Gaga was receiving in there, and now O just realized that there's no actual difference between the haters' ignorant criticism, and the so called "critics" being made here. So yes, basically: I don't want to experience "ARTPOP" among this fanbase anymore. While Lady Gaga brings joy and light to my life, this place is just a source of gratuitous stress and negativity. The hatred in this fanbase is unbelievable, and I'm tired of it. I'm super excited about "ARTPOP", and I'll support Gaga just as much as I always did (or even harder, actually), but I don't want to ruin my experience with the album, by being part of such a toxic, venomous community. I still think Little Monsters rule, and I still think Gaga has great fans, but this particular forum, is not the best place to find them. I guess I'll still lurk for news and stuff, but as a member, this is my last post. She had several to chose from and she believes in it. Its not like its a crap single about drinking and partying. It has value! Look to her "rant" for simple prove that this song means something to her. It has a layered meaning too. It is the essence of Gaga in many ways. And she is not going to half heartedly do a single era just because it wasnt chosen first. She has amazing concepts and I know she will apply them to DWUW. Have faith and remember its Gaga not someone basic. She is EVERY icon. She can rock this RnB super catchy radio friendly hit better than anyone and I can't wait to watch it all unfold. What's GaGa going to do? Be mad her label wants to put her music out to radio? She is a pop star - an artistic one at that - of course the "popular, easy and radio friendly song" will be a single, they need to make their moneys worth. People are not frustrated over VENUS not being a single, they are just are expressing their concern and worries because Gaga's label doesn't seem to have a strong and conceptual promo plan for probably Lady Gaga's best album (stay pressed TFM fans ), and the making of DO WHAT U WANT the second single just showcases how unsure they are about what making a single and what not making a single and so on... Furthermore, what is she going perform on the X-Factor? If the single is changed, she'll either have to put a lacklaster simple performance or to work like crazy to learn the new choreo, to think something of R Kelly presence at the show and all the stuff... But that's the good thing about Gaga: you have to constantly stay concentrated, can't get relaxed since...once second VENUS is the second single, then suddenly it's DO WHAT U WANT I can't wait for Friday to see all the meltdowns after hearing Venus snippet. Psychedelic 1,098 Posted October 23, 2013 Share Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) This fanbase is completely f*cked up... not only do we have enough with the significant amount of little stupid monsters out there attacking people, artists and fanbases, making Gaga's antibullying message appear a little contradictory but also make a big deal out of all the decisions that have been made lately on ARTPOP promotion and blame it on HER?... remember she is an artist and she surely is building most of her career up based on that, but you also have to be aware that as much as she preaches about art and making things for the music, if she wants to stay in the bussiness, she has to abide by the marketing rules of music labels, and that's going to happen wherever she goes, whether at Interscope or any other record label... because that's what record labels wish, they wish to actually SELL, and keep their big names on the game for as much as it's possible... which I consider you all should take as good thing! Because these song is just a popular, easy and radio friendly song. Nothing new or innovative, about it. Gaga doesn't make the single choices. Interscope does. She can argue with them all she wants, but ultimately, they own the rights to distribute her music however they please. The business decisions have nothing to do with her as an artist. There is so much that is new and innovative in this song. I'm sad you can't hear it. This is R&B, soul, pop, 80s synth dance music, and Michael Jackson all rolled into one. If you can find me a song that does the same thing, I'd be shocked to know it exists. I did find the song odd after the first listen, but that's what happens with most Gaga songs. They open up the more you listen. Now after many, many listens, I think it's her very best work. I do agree that thematically ARTPOP hasn't been very strong so far, but we also haven't seen the app yet, and that really might be the gateway to opening things up. It seems to have a very central place in what the album is going to say and mean. I feel bad for judging the earlier parts of the era so harshly now that she's released a song that's so so strong and amazing, so I'm going to look forward to the album and then see what I think then.
