I really appreciate, as a fan, all the good things that this website has made for Gaga and her career. I mean: all the "certify Gaga" projects, it is really lovely. I have always admired the passion that people who administrates GagaDaily pours into this site (I mean: the fashion section! I always thought it was insane how they always spotted her fashion choices, it's impressive), but the level of rudeness, aggressiveness, and ignorance of the users here is already too much for me to deal with.

Logging here, literally means being exposed to a huge amount of negativity, and drama, that I certainly do not want in my life.

Most users here do not care about music at all. They care about her popularity, her financial success, and her image.

If most people like her, they will like her, if the GP doesn't like her, they won't .

Users who are calling Gaga a hypocrite for releasing "DWUW" as a second single due to its commercial success, are the same who claim to be afraid of "having another Judas, TEOG, or MTN". The funny thing is: they say "Gaga shouldn't care about charts", yet they HATE on everyone of her songs that fails to become a hit.

"Judas" is an AMAZING track, and the video is GLORIOUS, it is 100% Gaga, and it's brilliant, just like "Marry The Night". There's NOTHING "messy" about them. In fact: those are her best singles ever, in terms of artistic quality (together with "Applause" and "Yoü And I"), yet you constantly dismiss those pieces' merits. Only because they underperformed.

Several users here are only chart fans, popularity fans, and GP's reception fans, not Lady Gaga fans.

Most of you only seem to care about the marketing choices, the chart positions, the commercial success... it's ok if those are your interests, but I'm actually here for the music, and the art.

I can deal with having to defend Gaga on FB or some other places, from haters. But I am certainly not willing to stress over tolerating so much hatred on Lady Gaga's main fansite.

This site isn't about music anymore, nor about Gaga, lots of you come here only to let go all your daily frustrations, vomiting negativity in every single thread.

In every thread, every day, the are rude remarks, violent posts, extremely overly dramatic statements... it's really insane and it's completely out of control.

I stopped visiting certain sites because of the hate that Gaga was receiving in there, and now O just realized that there's no actual difference between the haters' ignorant criticism, and the so called "critics" being made here.

So yes, basically: I don't want to experience "ARTPOP" among this fanbase anymore.

While Lady Gaga brings joy and light to my life, this place is just a source of gratuitous stress and negativity.

Okay, thanks for clearing up. I was wondering. Don't really care that it changed necessarily, considering we are still getting a video for Venus anyway. Hopefully it won't turn into another betrayal haha!

Just because people have an opinion that differs from yours does not mean it's negativity. 

 

Just go to the main thread where the song was initially released. Everyone was loving it and excited. Not all of GGD is negative and certainly not all of the users.

 

Also, with as many people as there are here, of course there will be someone that disagrees with Gaga choices and will be loud about it. That's to be expected. 

People are here for Gaga and the music, but they also want to see her be successful because they care about her and her art being recognized for how great it is.

Gaga was telling us that Venus is the next single, hyping it with lyrics, and suddenly Interscope decides to make DWYW a single (I've even read that she had no choice in the matter. Not sure if that's true, though).

However, they've made the rash decision to force it as a single. The egg will be on their faces if sales drop fast.

I kinda agree. I've been a fan since 2009 and used forums ever since, but I never even stopped to realise what it would be like to JUST listen to the music and some interviews etc., without all the hustle around it. Not that I'm saying that there are a l hate the community, but it's easy to forget to just enjoy what we get without making such a big deal out of it. Charts, celebrity reactions, betrayals - it's all drama. And we didn't come here for drama, but for music.

Yes, I care about Gaga and I want her to be happy and succesful. But the girl already has more money than she knows what to do with. Number one singles are nice, but I personally think Gaga would much rather see us enjoying the music even when it peaks at #59 or w/e, rather than having a #1 where all this drama within the fanbase is involved.

It's all about having fun and being inspired, and the music wouldn't become any less good even if it wouldn't chart at all. Hell, most of my favorite songs are by artists who haven't ever charted at all.

 

So thanks for that post, it really got me thinking  :)

What can I add ? Except that I totally agree with you. I like this place to share the excitement during the releases, and been aware of all the news, but I think I'm gonna take a break with ARTPOP to be just okay, and calm.

Well to be fair, Venus has had little promo too. All we got was some tweets and lyrics and a video director. Nothing major.
