shelby loved 384 Posted October 22, 2013 Share Posted October 22, 2013 because a rap about the greek gods is a sure-fire radio smash. its sailor moon realness lets be real and its one of her fav songs so.... also i agree that releasing DWUW as a single is "messy" - yes it isnt the same situation as before, but it's off schedule, unexpected, and a rushed decision by Interscope or whoever made the decision. they dont trust gaga or the original plan enough to follow through with it. the timing is off by a week and the performance for this sunday would have to change. not good IMO. everyone knows venus will sell and go to #1, the fire has been lit. I have no idea how any of it works, or how Interscope works. I just base my opinions using logic and common sense. Did Interscope honestly believe DWUW was not going to chart well given the pre-orders ARTPOP has had? Also, no new major releases this week either except for this song.. new Gaga music, plus the pre-orders.. of course it was going to shoot up the charts! If I were someone working for her, I'd recommend she start going crazy on Twitter hyping Venus, and cancel the third promo single altogether. It's clear pre-orders alone would take any song released as a promo single to #1. Drop Venus, video + do promo. No more promo singles after that. Give no more attention to DWUW, just as Katy hasn't given any attention to her promo singles. Whoever hears it and likes it, buys it. Bonus. They shouldn't have released promo singles. And all her plans of hearing the song for the first time while watching the video...well that is obviously not going to happen at all with this album now But I guess DWUW will do good on the charts and radio she already said we weren't getting the venus video on the release date.
