alffy74 53
This is all a marketing scheme or scam I should say that reinforces my theory that the music industry inflates the number of sales to create a hype. The hype's purpose is to give the impression that the song (or album) is doing great, which will encourage more people to buy it, which will feed the hype and goes in circle. Most of the DWUW sales come from the pre-orders and I think this is a very smart, unconventional way of feeding the hype. There is no way that this song would have generated such a worldwide interest, not that t doesn't deserve it cause I think it certainly does, but because it wasn't promoted in a way to make it slay sale records the way it does. I think its first days sales reflect the ARTPOP pre-order sales, which is why it reached # 1 so fast and in so many countries. Now that it has caught the public's attention and that it was serviced to radios, the song will continue the momentum it gained. I do hope it smashes the charts, not that they are that important, but because Gaga needs to cater to a larger audience than us.
Let Love Down 56
so random… if venus does better than DWUW then we turn venus to the third single?
clarkmonstr 6
so is there still an option that venus can be a regular radio single in the future? confused tbh
Igor Hachul 365
I'm so disappointed, the whole era seemed to be focused on Venus (cover art, wigs...). I was looking forward the X Factor performance and now it's all gone. I thought she didn't care for charts :( Until we have a videoclip for "Do what you want" the song won't be a new thing anymore and it will turn into a new "The Edge of Glory" flop. I'm sure SHE isn't a fan of the whole idea, but Interscope has the power right now.
lndigo 1
ARTPOP is more single-worthy How so? Literally, how?

Obviously DWUW would go to #1 if she already has so many pre-orders. And the promo single thing wasn't introduced until after she announced Venus as the 2nd single. Idk, I might just be so upset that I'm creating a conspiracy. But it seems possible. I like DWUW but I wasn't prepared for this. I need to stop commenting on this thread. ThatAsianGuy 2,365
then venus should not be released as a promo single a week later... it might mess up DWUW sales..
