Not sure if that's true, though). That, in my opinion IS pretty messy. What was messy was reading this... too much capitals tbh! I half agree... She should go with her heart more and not with success. Even if Do What U Want turns out to be better than Venus, it's not what SHE (THE ARTIST) intended. Isn't this what happened with Applause too? She didn't originally like the song enough for it to make the album, but Jimmy Iovine told her she should not only put it on the album but release it as the lead? It doesn't seem very genuine to choose the singles this way. At the same time, you can't blame her, I just wish she didn't already say "I don't make music for the charts". P.S. I will still get to listen to Venus soon and will probably love it. My favorite Gaga songs never end up being singles anyway, so I'm not that worried about what does and does not become a single. I'm in love with ARTPOP (the song) and I don't think that will be released as a single (not soon, anyway) and that's okay with me. I don't need the rest of the world (read, GP) to acknowledge that a song is good for me to enjoy it. DWUW is a great jam and I'm glad that people like it. I am especially glad because it shows off Gaga's vocals so well and I am tired of the uninformed stating with ignorance that she cannot really sing. Marry the Night may not have made some people happy here with it's chart performance or radio reception, but it is an amazing song and the music video is one of my favorites. Venus (and its video) will have its day in the light and it will be great regardless of how it is received by anyone else. We just have to have a little patience. That being said, I do understand why people are upset and I wish that Gaga herself held all the cards when it came to her own career and music, but sadly, that is not the world that we live in. Always look at the positives! 1) It's a good song with powerhouse vocals 2) It's slaying without any real promo or radio play 3) We're still getting Venus + a video 4) Venus will also slay due to the promo and hype building for Gaga, maybe so much that they will release it as a single. 5) And for anyone who doesn't care about the charts and just wants Venus regardless whether it is radio friendly or not, well this way we can have venus, the video, a few performances and not have to worry about charts since it is a promo song! 6) Gaga's happy and rich 7) Interscope is happy and rich WIN / WIN situation.
