It's not the song that's the problem (at least from my own perspective), but the situation. Nobody wants another last minute single era after we had so many with BTW. She seemed so thrilled with Venus and now that's all swept under the rug. The silver lining is that we don't have a Judas to jump over.... yet. It doesn't matter how well it charts on iTunes, especially within the first week of release. The mindset against it being a single is already there because it wasn't intended as one. And it's unprofessional of Interscope to change it to a single at this stage of the release plan. It shows distrust in Gaga's music, and distrust in their own planning. It creates a distrust with her core audience, too. Not to mentionKaty (lol) but she did the right thing by ignoring the great sales of her two promo singles. It was already a eye popper with, and I quote "R&B legend R. Kelly". People will be curious and want to listen to this song; Non Monsters. It's relatable to everyone. Especially the bridge. She's no sell out to bring back attention to her new album. She's just doing business. Fans shouldn't take it personally at what can not be changed. We should support what her record label and gaga agree on. Simple as that. If not, then I don't know what else to tell you, but don't let it take so much effect on you. It's music. Remember what they did to the singles of the BTW era compared to what she wanted to release and when? Interscope, like with EoG, saw the bajillion #1's and caught a case of "enormous dollar marks in the eyes". There is only so much she can do - you have no idea what she thinks about this move or if she pushed back against the decision. Most likely, she's pissed. ...But as always, everything's Gaga's fault among her own fans. Be disappointed with the move itself all you like, but start about Gaga being a hypocrite when it couldn't be more clear that she absolutely can't be called a culprit here and you're just making a fool of yourself.
