I was just thinking this! the Fame was amazing when it came out but now it pales in comparison. Itll always hold a special place in my heart though  :sara:

Exactly. The Fame is great and it changed the game for pop music so there's no hard feelings, but ARTPOP is Gaga on an entirely new dimension. I'm so happy we have someone like her in pop that continues to push the limits of her image and sound while her contemporaries stick to simply changing their hairstyles.

The only reason I'm not giving this a full 10 is the disjointed transition from the first verse to the pre-chorus. The rest of the song is absolutely perfect, and the chorus is legendary.

Unfortunately VENUS has not got me excited - and to be completely honest - has let down some of the other snippets/singles/previews we have of ARTPOP. Although the chorus is catchy the lyrics and formalities of the song are flipped. The whole 'personalising planets into a cheerleading chant' thing is, fyi, really REALLY lame. I'm pretty sure this will be the GP's opinion on this too. It just comes across a little lazy and cheap.

Seriously, after SWINE fest I thought she had it down in terms of what would be coming next; a single that would secure a top 3 hit. DWUW warrants a spot on the album and by far surpasses VENUS as a worthy new single.

I don't even know if I like this song... because it's 4 different songs in one!

EDIT: I don't love the immediate "I can't help the way I'm feeling!"

VENUS is pop perfection. I'm so happy! Not sure how it would perform on the charts but the chorus is epic and catchy

"When you touch me I die just a little inside. I wonder if this could be love, this could be love. 'Cause you're out of this world, galaxy, space, and time, and I wonder if this could be love"

Yaaaay she let poor little Pluto stay in the song lol! I loved it, I was dancing the entire way through! I honestly don't care about the single choice because either would do well; I think DWUW is more radio friendly but Venus is like practically written for us monsters

I think it's amazing overall, a little disjointed at parts but not too messy like other songs from the past like Americano and Highway Unicorn. I still love it. Ugh this album needs to come out already!!

For those who said this song is a mess, just listen to Britney's Work Bitch

The songs not great, but I think it's her best video in several years.... It's kinda corny and spicegirl-ish, but it works (b---h)  :bunny:

Not just this, but there isn't a lot of meaning behind including the planets either. She tries to relate planets to love, but scratch away all the sci-fi planet stuff and what do you have? Another generic, pop sounding love song (just in terms of lyrics, that is). Not saying that's bad, but this song's lyrics aren't as complex and involved as many seem to think. Unique, and bit weird, yes, but complex, not really. In fact I think the dress up of planet stuff would make it hard for the GP to be able to relate to the song as well, it's a bit counter-intuitive.

That said, the music is smashing, so I can still forgive the song. The music is unique, complex, AND I can see it catching on. But the lyrics... Let's hope most people listening to this song are at clubs and are too drunk to even care about what the lyrics are :awkney:
