Gaga on Swine Fest: "None were studio versions"

Not even Applause?

Obviously Applause has to be the studio version.  I pre-ordered the album to get Applause.  My itunes isn't just going to change the song on November 11.  Also, she has already made the music video...

I hope the squeals in Swine's second breakdown are removed.

The squeels make the song. It's so punk rock (yes I know she is a pop artist).  But I can see how they may come across better live than in a studio version.  Still...I'm here for the squeels.

Even though we were told, from the very beginning that "Swine Fest" won't feature studio versions, I really don't know how to feel about this... because, as much as I initially felt awkward about Aura's weirdness, I'm in love with it now, and I want the song to keep that freak-ass structure.

I'm not gonna lie, first time I heard "Aura" I didn't got it at all. I mean: the intro was fine... kinda like a sordid, dark western vibe... then the psychotic laughter, and I was like "oooook, that was weird... it won't be a single anyways, so I don't care", and then, of course, "AAUU-RAAH-AAH-AAH!! AAUU-RAAH-AAH-AAH!!!" happened, and I was kinda done with the song... XD .

It was way too experimental, and I got shocked, because it sounded NOTHING like a thought it would. I was hoping for "Applause" kind of songs, but I got this weird as f*ck tune, that was closer to Diamanda Galas raving with Pixies, rather than revamped "The Fame Era" songs I was prepared for.

I thought the intro was extremely strange, the verses were too aggressive, the instrumentals almost industrial... the only "safe" part was the chorus, all the rest was too risky.

I feared the GP would never digest the song, I feared the stupid controversy ignited by ignorant journalism (that already happened),... I basically feared she was taking too many risks with such a song, and I wanted her to succeed.

"Aura" is an alternative, dark, goth infected electronic piece, with unusual verses, and a tough attitude. We all know that's nothing what the GP, or the radio, want.

So I thought: "ok, is just a demo anyways, I hope she just leaves this as a wild experiment, and doesn't even included on the album".

With weeks, however, the song grew on me. After a few listens, I realized that the "weirdness" of the tune, was the thing I liked the most. The laughter, the crazy way of singing "aura", the highly affected intonation of the verses... I liked it very much. I just wasn't ready for her doing such risky moves with her music, but once I get used to it, the melody became really addictive to me.

And when she played the song in the festival... I fell in love :-D .

I realized that: if I can deal with Diamanda Galas' eccentric vocals, Björk's confusing atmospheres, and Nirvana's over the top intensity, I should get used to Lady Gaga doing weird things as well, because she's an avant garde artist, for real now.

I remembered an interview from that girl in Marina And The Diamonds saying about our Gaga: "I think her best is yet to come, I think her weirdness hasn't transferred into her music yet, but it will"... and I think "Aura" is just that.

"Aura" is Lady Gaga going really gaga. And now, I don't want the song to get "fixed" anymore, I don't want it to sound "normal". And not only I want it in the album sounding JUST as crazy as it currently sounds, I also want it to become a single (not now, I know it's not the best choice for the 2nd single, but one day, I want "Aura" to get out there, and clean up the radios from the current reign of mediocrity that's in the airwaves).

I mean... I'm tired of music always being about marketing, of singles always being so "safe", so "friendly", so "inoffensive", and generic, I'm really fed up with that crap. Nobody takes risks, nobody dares to draw out of the lines... it's seriously a sea of mediocrity in the music business.

And if Lady Gaga is the one to make a difference, to stand up and say: "Ok, bring on that flop dears, I'm releasing this work all the same, for art's sake", then I'd be happy.

I understand that "Aura" can't be a single right now, but I don't want the track to get "radio-cured", I want it to be weird. I don't mind the song to change, as long as it stays freak.

Aura was basically the same as the leak though? More changes?

It was purposefully made that way though, so the real version wouldn't be revealed.

I hope she keeps the beginning of swine slow. It would have such impact like she performed at iTunes but I doubt she will.

Also, I feel that since she tweeted about changing some of the lyrics I Wanna Be With You it's gonna be so good. It's such a relatable and moving song.

I'm just expecting them both to be the same, but with more electronic beats.

Aura-Remastered, less Infected Mushroom more Zedd

MANiCURE-Less rock, more pop

ARTPOP-more synths

Jewels N' Drugs-I feel this will be fairly similar

Sex Dreams-Maybe just jazz it up a little bit more, more synths, enhanced whispering

Swine-More EDM, less pig sounds

I Wanna Be With You-more band (Speechless, You and I)

Applause-well if this isn't the same...

Well, I have good expectations. I mean, they've been working for many months on the album versions, and they only had a couple of weeks to put together a live version. I don't expect something too different though (although I'm not sure after comparing ARTPOP's car version with ARTPOP's live version).

We'll see.
