If radio is barely playing Applause, a radio friendly hit, what makes you think they will play Sex Dreams, a s-xually explicit song. I love Sex Dreams, but i honestly think we should get all the songs on the album first to make a decent decision on second single. As of now though, my vote goes to MANiCURE

And anyone could put out a very dirty song and get a number one, but we have to realise this is Gaga... She would be criticized and disliked just for even mentioning Sex Dreams, when no one would say anything if Rihanna released it

Alright I voted for Sex Dreams and will continue to stan for Sex Dreams but I just re-listened to Swine, and oh my God. I don't care when it comes, but SWINE ALSO HAS TO BE A SINGLE.

This is what's so great about ARTPOP...there are so much more single choices than BTW.

So start the music.

I'm really not keen on Sex Dreams as the second single from ARTPOP, it's too risky especially since the album won't be out until after it's release. It could cause controversy because of it's raw s-xual nature, I don't want Sex Dreams killing any momentum Gaga may have for the album or future singles :gum:

Robin Thicke's delivery is different and plus that's the album version, not the radio one he does not say ****. And still Sex Dreams is much rauncher. I doubt it will get played unless it's heavily edited, but I love the song though.

it's not about saying the word s-x or not, it's the meaning of the whole song, of every verse. It is way more vulgar than s-x dreams...

People are mostly talking about in America and I've heard certain parts of S&M and Rude Boy censored here.

it still didn't stop them for being hits...

My first choice for a second single would have to be MANiCURE. Why? Well, apart from the support by Adele, MANiCURE is exactly the sound the general public has been craving to hear. Its sound resembles the essence of THE FAME, yet seems to push her into new territory. This could be a chance to win over a lot of her female demographic and be a role model. What is so unique about this song is that while it has this great empowerment meaning, it's still a song you wanna play in the car and party to during spring break.

The song may be girly and unrelatable to me, but to millions of girls and women it would. It's exactly the single she needs to garner back some radio hype, and show the world that she isn't always so serious.

My second choice, based off of our options would be Sex Dreams. Why? Because pop culture is horny at the moment. Take Miley, Thicke, and Rihanna for example. They have had mass amounts of success with showcasing s-xually explicit songs. Sex Dreams is relatable is the sense that we all have desires and a thirst to be naughty. It's also experimental enough to be considered a blend of art and pop. Another thing to consider is that Gaga could snatch her erotica moment with this song. The only negative side to this is that again people will claim her of taking things way to serious and releasing something again all about her needs. MANiCURE showcases the need for other women to feel better about themselves.

:laughga:

but the word 's-x' is prominently in the chorus in 's-x dreams,' it will have to be bleeped out on some radio stations..what's the point if you can't even hear it? what would an edited version be? 'love dreams?' :laughga:

MANiCURE will be chosen if interscope wants to focus on heavy radio play leading up to the album release.

Not going to enter on a debate but I seriously  don't understant what's the problem that america has with the word s-x. :lmao:

Ok, it could be "dirty dreams". If the word s-x is so scaring that makes people's ears bleed, it would mean the same but well...

It's just funny when you have a song like blurred lines slaying all radios with a lyrics that.. well, you know.

We have to stop on thinking on how relatable the song is for the gp... I mean, that's not really THAT important. For example, single ladies... it was such a hit, and what? Only single ladies listened to it or how is it going?

It's not that eassy, EVERY song can be a success or flop, it depends on the moment. Nobody can predict with a 100% of certainty if a song is going to be a hit because of the lyrics, or even the music. We all know that there are big hits that are like... omg what **** is this?

Last year we had Gangnam style... starting from the idiom, there you go, nothing relatable, the song itself was also trash. The video was a joke... so what?

This year is blurred lines... same goes there. (sorry not sorry)

And there are thousands of examples.

So just look up for the song that you REALLY like the most, and we'll see what happens. I voted for s-x dreams, I can't tell that it will be a hit (and I haven't said that during the whole thread). As far as you can't say that MANiCURE, aura, swine... or any other will smash. We don't know! Just listen to them and pick the one that makes you feel better. Not because it is more the fame, or because it has good lyrics for the gp, or because it's radio friendly... just vote what you like and stop arguing about which one will have more success because we can't control or predict that.
