It's not nearly as much of a liability single-wise as it would have been with Burqa as the title. Even her referencing the burqa at all is unnecessary. She knows what kind of stir that would cause and its just her shallow attempt at creating the illusion of provocation and so many fans seem to buy into it as if shes doing something boundary pushing for pressing buttons when she isn't. Of course a huge single does have a certain impact on album sales, but not as much as before. I think nowadays, singles, and more particularly: videos, promote the artists in general, and are more helpful for touring sales, than any other thing . I totally get your point anyways, and even though I agree that, financially, a radio-friendly single is vital, I think that, artistically, quality should always be the focus. I really want Lady Gaga to top ALL charts if possible (I bought "Applause" 4 times for god's sake... XD), but I don't want her to release crappy music for the GP to digest easily. If being honest, I don't think the only songs from "ARTPOP" that will have a certain acceptance by non-fans are "MANiCURE" and PERHAPS "Sex Dreams", that's it. I don't see any other potential hit, and I don't think this "era" will do that great in terms of charts positions. Does that mean I'm gonna give up on "ARTPOP" already cause "it's a mess"? nope, I'm beyond happy, cause the songs are great, musically, visually, even conceptually... she's at her best; I don't think there's any other pop star capable of doing what she does, she's really on another level. So is not like I want her to "flop" at all, I simply think that she has nothing to prove, I mean: that Itunes performance... there's no other pop musician, alive, able to pull out such a show, she is still at the top. So: artistically, she's still the best, and financially... she topped Forbes last time I heard :-P . I really see nothing to worry tbh, I'm just enjoying all the art she's providing to us, and that's kinda it :-D . I know what you mean anyways, and yeah, I also want her to "slay" the charts, but if it doesn't happen, I'm still dancing you know ;-) . Back on topic: I want "Aura", but I think we'll get "MANiCURE" (plus: I can totally see Beyonce in "MANiCURE").
