We're both convicted criminals of thought" to Facebook and people who were unknowing to the fact that these were Gaga lyrics commented with things related to Orwell's novel "1984". DONUTELLA 16 Posted August 31, 2013 Share Posted August 31, 2013 I talked about the possibility of Sex Dreams being partially inspired by 1984 quite a lot whenever Gaga first tweeted the lyrics back in the spring. 1984 is one of my favorite books EVER and I'm really really hoping that she references the book more than once in this song. I'd actually be kinda surprised if she didn't make another reference in the song or elsewhere on the album, I mean "criminals of thought" is a pretty blatant reference to Orwell. I'm so hyped for this I can't even stand it. The lyrics, the teased performance in that video, the possible 1984 reference...it's just too much to handle.
