For MJH, I'm pretty sure it's not

P-Paul oh sit on my lyre

But

Apollo sit on my lyre

:)

It IS 'Apollo, sit on my lyre.'

"Apollo is known in Greek-influenced Etruscan mythology as Apulu. ... Hermes created the lyre for him, and the instrument became a common attribute of Apollo."

DAT GREEK MYTHOLOGY, GAGA <3

A leak isn't going to hurt anything. We're only 7 days away from release anyways.

9 days from the release in Germany, Austria, NZ etc.

12 days from the international release

and 13 days from the release in my country

:fthis:

So she's asking Apollo to sit on an instrument?

No...

The lyric goes: If you have fear for Apollo, sit on my lyre and play him like a piano man.

It is in reference to the greek mythology/many artistic interpretations of the story of Daphne and Apollo (including the statues on the ARTPOP album cover). Apollo chased Daphne constantly to be his wife. When Daphne found out Apollo was about to catch her, she yelled to her father to change her into something else so that Apollo wouldn't chase her any longer. She was turned into a tree, her hair leaves, her arms branches.

As it relates to the song, when you're high (ie: Daphne) and you get paranoid (scared of Apollo chasing you) as many people do get paranoid when they are high, sing along with the song (sit on Gaga's lyre) and "play him like a piano man" aka tell the paranoia to piss off.

You have just been ARTPOPPED. Anyway, that's my take.

When she's done with Venus Seashell Girl...Daphne :) All makes sense
