Applause is competing against a huge smash hit (Blurred Lines) and a new smash hit from America's favourite babysitter (Katy Perry) which is a far more appealing pop song with a more effective promo campaign. Plus now there's the all the attention Miley Cyrus is getting, so considering all that - she's doing really well to be #3. I can't believe people care so much about charts when even gaga herself doesn't care... If she doesn't then why does she retweet chart positions like crazy? Jonathanholland 5,321 Posted August 26, 2013 Share Posted August 26, 2013 i am not talking negative!!! i am just disappointed!!! after 2 years a load of promo!!! gaga is not doing as good...she had the time square GMA, M/V, a **** load of radio plays/interviews, KIA commercial, VMA performance and she's still aint doing that well in the US! i just feel like by now the song should have went #1 and stayed there for few weeks! but now (again) the song is slipping on iTunes! its not holding its position! it goes up for 24 hours and slips down! she will hardly menage to go platinum this way! And what if she doesn't go platinum? Will Gaga become irrelevant or something? just enjoy the music and don't give to much attention to the charts. It's nice to seeing her go #1 but if she doesn't the music is still great. This fanbase is way to busy with sales and views in my opinion. Everyone is just here for the same reason: Gaga and her music. I'm so done with her own fans talking about her flopping all the time. I want to enjoy being on this forum without people making me almost dislike applause because of the chart performance. besides top 10 is still great for an artist who's been gone for almost 2 years. That was also possible because the competition wasn't as big as it is right now. We all knew Katy would outsell Gaga single wise (at least I knew). Let's just hope her choice for the second single is amazing :) actually i love applause!!! and eveybody i know love it...i dont think its the singles lyrics or anything! i think its btw shadow...gaga used to be for everybody (everybody used to listen to her) but with btw she made herself seem like her music is confined for gay people. she lost a lot of the fans that were not gay.. i am not implying not to support the gay community or anything, but i think it will be smart for gaga to deliver what ever the general public wants (for now) i think the 1d support was really smart..and the venus autfit was right (in terms of showing off her amazing body/bum :p) haha she needs to burst that bubble Wtf where is it falling?
