why did katy release roar 3 weeks later tho?

is it a common tactic for the uk releases?

because all the preorders got her #1!

Amongst all this Katy business, there's actually a pretty phenomenal track that's gone on sale tonight. Y'all need to check out Trouble by Neon Jungle. It's a bop and a jam and I'm yet to meet someone who dislikes it.

Seriously check it out on itunes: Neon Jungle - Trouble.

OMG another neon jungle fan!

i just hope gaga can remain stable in the top ten for at least half of september, it seems to be showing signs of longetivity  :ohno:

I think that's the true reason and it worked of course

Woop! I love them. I'm normally not a fan of Girl Groups but they are my guilty pleasure; been on repeat for hours now. That neat is insanely catchy!

And yeah, I don't think Gaga's getting any #1s soon with the on air/ on sale thing. Longevity really is her best tactic from now on.

If Katy released on UK itunes on Aug 13, without radio, she'd have been behind Ellie.

Then if Gaga waited until today, Applause would be #1.

Even with Roar being more popular.

Dark green update

Hopefully iTunes Festival will push her up to #5 (maybe #4 if she pulls off something spectacular/a lot of people tune in) :)

I don't think it will be long until #5 regardless of the festival cos she's really gaining on Miley!

If the festival has any impact at all it will be on Wednesday when it's shown on TV. Unless iTunes really push her performance with banners linking to videos of it etc

Applause played today on R1 at middayish. Seems they are finally deciding to play it regularly, probably to hype up her Grimmy interview on Monday. Hopefully we will see it A listed next week.

Also, she is underneath five songs that are falling (Get Lucky, Take Back The Night, We Can't Stop, I Love It and Love Me Again) so there is potentially a sharp increase into the top ten.

Drake's at #9 on the Official Chart this week, ah I actually thought he'd be a threat to Gaga's position this week since he overtook her over the weekend on itunes *phew*

The official charts are on Radio 1 now, Drake is #09, DJ Fresh is #08..

Applause #06 on iTunes + not that behind #05. VERY pleased with the fact it looks like it's gonna be sticking around for a long time
