Does Leona have a chance at #1 on Sunday? Or is hitting the peak on Friday too late to count?

leona is on jonathan ross tonight.

it's weird though because the album debuted at #24 last week with (what i thought was) a lot of promo. she's saved herself this week! if her christmas album flopped surely it'd be time for her to be dropped...

Sounds like people are here for the song but not the album or Leona.

If it debuted 24, it doesn't have a lot of time to make sales.

Buying a whole Xmas album by someone is about liking that artist.

Seeing as Beyonce's album was released on Friday, does that mean she'll debut on Sunday's chart or will she be kept back until next Sunday?

It will be the same as Gaga releasing BTW on a Friday. Beyonce is using her single release model for an album, only without advance hype. And similarly, she'll get #1 US but screw herself out of #1 UK. The hype peaked Thursday night US while Britain was sound asleep.

It's more she cocked up her UK timing.

Applause gets immediate release but no promo (neither TV appearance nor KIA commercial), so era is short and weak. If she'd held song back for awhile, it would have peaked higher, maybe performed better overall.

So she needs a new single for X Factor and album promo, ahead of everyone else. DWUW was done on X Factor while Applause was still gaining on US radio and in Top 10.

I don't think Troy Carter understood UK market very well.

That's what I mean. Everything is out of sync. I mean songs in general have more life in US but they could've even given Applause a delayed release like other big songs which would've helped it more in the beginning anyway.

Kinda reminds me with what happened with Justin's Suit & Tie and Mirrors. S&T was still big in US while Mirrors took off here and then after Mirrors died here it started taking off in US, and then the album cycle just died basically lol
