Luc 4,775
Hm. I'm wondering, how was BTW's chartrun and how the hell did it sell 950k? With singles the UK gets sick of things fast and songs have low amount of longetivity, but is it different with albums? Does ARTPOP have any chances to go 3x platinum too? Everybody always talks about how frontloaded BTW was, but it spent 9 weeks in the Top 5 and 22 weeks in the Top 20, while ARTPOPon the other hand... I guess public interest really IS lower than ever. It was also #1 its 2nd and 5th week. It was over 800k after Xmas. It's guess 3/4 of its sales came first two months and the 2 months around Xmas. It would have more longevity if last two singles weren't floppy.
glitterintheair 2
Hopefully she duets with gaga it's not gonna happen :( these are the saturday night song choices. i think it's only on sunday when the final 2 are chosen that the duets are announced. Finally... there hadn't been anything yet this season I believe? maybe you're right actually! p.s. i feel embarassed that i look like such an xfactor enthusiast. i promise i really don't care about it all that much in the grand scheme of things, lol. The only thing that bothers me is that while DWUW is doing well, it's not helping the album. She pretty much needs at least a Top 3 to sell the album at this point. I guess public interest really IS lower than ever. That's a function of how UK album sales REALLY increase around Xmas (more than in US). For example, Kylie's Aphodite has much better chart position to start than X, because of a July vs November release. It actually sold more around Xmas at #40-50 on album chart than it did around #10-20 in the summer. #24 and #32 in 3rd-4th week = disaster Jan-Oct, but not so Nov-Dec. I just think that it isn't the kind of song that makes you go "wait lemme check out this album!" Like TeoG (and hopefully Gypsy).

Yeah. And Gypsy is gonna need to smash like TEOG with 500,000+ sales
Luc 4,775
Yeah. And Gypsy is gonna need to smash like TEOG with 500,000+ sales Indeed. She just needs a smash non-collab single in her home genre. Gosh, no christmas releases ever again Gaga. This is all so stressing
craig 680
I only see 5 Xmas albums ahead of ARTPOP Albums like Nations Fave Elvis songs, Michael Buble, Susan Boyle, and various hits packages are targeted at adult shoppers and gift buyers, and will fall hard after Dec 25. Then there is a complete revolution when kids with itunes gift cards start dominating.

craig 680
I hope. When is it when album sales truly see a good boost overall. Next week, right? It's a gradual process from mid-November. Gaga might even have gained sales dropping 24 to 32.
