Gaga was put on the same night as 1D the last time she did an XF promo performance (1D got #3, Gaga got #16).

That was different, Gaga was performing a song that was already out for months, whereas 1D performed a 2nd lead single.

I hope her team considers having a preorder system for Venus.

Applause #33... Hopefully this will climb back when she'll promote the second single. o_O

Me too, that could in turn help with ARTPOP pre-orders WW too.

The OA/OS is bothering me too. We just have to hope the song is AMAZING and people will buy it after listening to the preview. It's that simple. Applause wasn't an instant hit with much of the fan-base, let alone the GP.

We KNOW that Gaga is gonna be in Europe at the end of this month. Even though she's back in US for YouTube Awards on 3rd November so I don't think it's gonna be a very long trip... And assuming 27th is the premiere of the song as well as the release that doesn't leave much room for promo.

The 27th is literally the only day she can do X Factor until 17th Nov. Unless she pre-records her performance on the weekend of Venus' release to air another weekend which would probably be an ideal situation, actually.

A pre-order system for Venus will be amazing :')

I really believe Gaga can get that #1 if it's a really good dance song with x factor promo too :)

and it's released on a sunday :)

What does OA/OS mean?

On air/on sale. It's a tactic that is (for some reason) still used by Gaga with her lead singles. It basically means that as soon as the song is premiered and sent to radio, it hits iTunes.

On the other hand, songs like Roar and Royals have a delayed release in the UK vs the rest of the world, so they can get weeks of radio and TV play preceding their release. It's mostly because our chart is based solely on sales I think. And the buyers are usually fickle as hell.

I wonder if Venus will turn out to have a similar chart performance to Bad Romance. Bad Romance was released earlier on before she performed on the X Factor. It lurked in the top 10 for a few weeks and then when she performed it went to #1.
