I wouldn't really count Paparazzi tbh, it didn't have a TV performance around single release

 

It is bizarre that they just left Applause to fight on its own everywhere outside of the US. It just doesn't make sense and it is so unlike Gaga. Hopefully they're just saving all the big guns for single 2 to serve simultaneously as album promo and just wanted Applause as a kind of 'buzz single' for international markets...

If it wasn't for the iTunes Festival opportunity to showcase the album material, she wouldn't have even been over here at all yet.

Seriously tho, depending on when it is released WW, I think the second single should come a week or two after here so it can build up airplay, hype etc like all other big releases... It seems to work for everyone else and the OA/OS strategy could be blamed for the lackluster performance of songs like Applause and Suit & Tie after the artist has had a lengthy absence from the public eye... Also that way it would come right before the album drops, so she will at least be at her peak on the singles chart by the time Nov. 11 comes around.

If Polydor/Gaga don't get their act together for single #2 i will be so done. She needs to delay the release date in the UK. It seems to be what most artists are doing now and it's working.

They probs won't delay it if we get single #02 towards the end of the month because ARTPOP would be out a week or two later and people would just cherrypick it from the album

 

Single #02 needs a good 3-4 weeks on radio before it's released, but that clearly isn't going to happen. Let's just hope she promotes the hell out of it over here

She needs to put single two up for preorder two weeks prior to it's release, send it to radio, then release it the sunday of her X Factor performance (assuming that that's before the album release)
