Okay but I'd rather her have a discount starting Sunday to pehaps creep another week inside of the top ten and have a much needed sales boost than slip out (which she is going to, by the way) and just die.

Don't underestimate the power of the top ten effect on iTunes, it's free front page promo and it's important Gaga stays there as long as possible.

You know a lot of people are still thinking that BTW album sold a lot because of the first day of Amazon service ($1 the album) which is wrong of course.

Okay there's a huge difference between selling an album for less than a dollar and taking 40p off the price of a single. Also the 59p discount happens all the time, the 99c album? Unheard of. That's why that situation is so memorable to people.

Yes, that is the main chart :) However throughout the week we mostly track iTunes because it makes up an extremely large proportion of the Official Chart which is then revealed every Sunday.
