craig 680
Katy's sort of release strategy works in the UK. Huge #1 equals good publicity and more people buying. It does seem that itunes buyers want to buy on itunes - they can stream on the internet before it comes out. so not many sales are lost simply because people are impatient and illegal download Much of public needs to hear it for a few weeks before they decide they like it, and hardcore fans are loyal buyers anyway. The strategy has been reinforced by having pre-orders, so fake versions of the song don't get bought accidently before release. As happened with We Found Love and Cheryl's last #1.. Jase 13,043
Applause sold 30,621 last week which brings it over the 100k mark
Harry 26,836
Applause sold 30,621 last week which brings it over the 100k mark It is weird that it's only at 100k at three weeks, but the fact her sales haven't really dropped that much week on week is really good and shows she's winning people back. It isn't just trailing off, it's solid and consistent. May she continue that way, or even begin increasing. I think she might do just over 30k this week.
