Bt1 5,213
Seriously what are people finding so interesting about that Lorde song, it's boring as hell It is an amazing song. You dont see it yet.
Arturo 40,746
I just think the topic of Christianity is much more broad than a Burqa. There are plenty of controversial songs out there that have reached #1 on the charts. If people like the way the song sounds and it's catchy, it will do well :) I just think you give too much credit to the GP's intelligence. They're not like us. They don't bother too look for a deeper meaning in a song. I just think it'll become a mess if it gets a single release. Hopefully, if Aura is the Telephone sequel, it's the THIRD SINGLE. Arturo 40,746
I feel like DJWS saying the song is a grower is because interscope knows they messed up. When I was listening to applause this morning I finally realized that the song won't connect with the GP. I LOVE the song but I was delusional for thinking it would easily smash. I would say 1.5 million for the single sales and #10 for radio. No matter what I will love Applause :) It doesn't have to connect to smash. It's a catchy Lady Gaga song. It just needs more exposure on radio. #4 is great for barely cracking the Top 40 on radio.
Bt1 5,213
I don't think it is. Well. Its ok. The world would be an awful place if all the people will like the same thing.

That's what I'm saying, though. Most of them won't care or even know exactly what the song is about. They just hear something that sounds awesome, buy it, and it shoots to #1 and sells 7 million copies I feel like DJWS saying the song is a grower is because interscope knows they messed up. If there's people like me there must be others :) Being an Ellie fan, I have experience knowing how "growers" perform on the charts ;)

Funny how I liked Aura the first time I heard it, though.
Guest HausOfZack
That's because of the intro and auto-tune. A well polished final version of Aura would be a great single worthy album track. Well im talking about demo since we dont know how final will turn out
Mills 446
My dream Gaga album would be produced by RedOne, Zedd, Madeon and Infected Mushrooms edit: + Calvin Harris The smash of it all YES!!! I still couldn't get over Sweet Nothing's production.
Tyler1992 2,265
I just realized that for all the pessimists in this group it just makes me that more optimistic! I'm so excited for what's in store for the future of Applause!
Klou 2,414
Locked Out of Heaven, Diamonds, and Suit & Tie I think will all end up being very comparable to Applause. All three has mediocre debuts, were growers, and led to good album sales. Unapologetic gave Rihanna her best debut ever and the other two albums did very well. It's better for ARTPOP's lead single to be something like Applause that people won't tire of quickly. Just think... If you get bored with something then you lose excitement/hype for the album. With a song that's a grower, your interest is sustained and you're more likely to buy the album. I believe that's what happened with Unapologetic, The 20/20 Experience, and Unorthodox Jukebox. Okay my 2 cents are over

Okay my 2 cents are over I agree. Though Bruno and Rih had to fight for those big hits with a bit of promotion. Probably why those songs went number one, though, and Suit and Tie didn't. People didn't buy and love Just Dance, Poker Face, Paparazzi, Telephone, Alejandro, Edge of Glory, etc. because they connected with them. They bought them because their good songs.
