At the moment I think the best it can do it is to make the song go no 2 on Itunes. Katy is holding too strong. She will get platinum in 2 weeks, even before the video is out at the rate she is selling. The sad part is that I think the chart perf of Applause, it will influence her label about the second single. All I want to say is that she and her label must choose the best songs as singles and not the songs with the story behind it. I dont want to happen like with Born this way, where 5 songs could have been mega hits, but they did not choose them, because there were some songs with stories. If the statistics are from August 19 on US, the video still has 8 h and a half of views until the 24 h mark. the vevo record is based on 24hrs from the release of the music video, regardless of its first point of availability in other countries.
