it's not falling. others are passing her.

As longs as it keeps growing on radio, it should be fine.

gurl numbers don't lie. Applause has peaked. Don't be afraid to admit it :)

It's science, bitch

Yup. And as well as Applause has done without her help really, to think of how much bigger it could be with a few extra pushes (ESP internationally).... Just really disappointing. I hope the next single is given better treatment

I'm hoping she sees Applause as a "Hi, I'm back" kinda single and she goes all out with single #02. I think that's what she's gonna do.

I think she'll peak on Pop within the next 2 weeks, so that should guarantee the songs continuation in the Top 10 of iTunes [#6-#10] for another 2 weeks or so. So that would be upwards of 100K sales, which would put the song at 1.4M - 1.5M. (?)

I hope you're right but I just don't see it :smh: I think she should release the second single in the very near future :)

SharGaga

I suppose the second single will be heavily promoted since it will be around the time ARTPOP drops. Looks like she's too busy finishing the album.

we've only had 2 tv performances for applause haven't we? such a shame. i doubt we'll be getting anymore either seeing as though we'll be getting single #02 in october :/ idg why she hasn't promoted on Ellen yet. i love her ellen appearances

Gaga likes to promote the album with 2-3-4 song sets, I'm sure we'll be seeking more it in in November.

Eh eh I'd be worried about iTunes performance when it falls below the .4 mark on Kworb.

That doesn't necessarily tell you anything though. Everyone's ratios have been going down for the last 24 hours because Lorde's sales have been increasing a lot. When the #1 song starts increasing a lot, songs can get green updates and still have their ratios go down (See Wake Me Up and That's My Kinda Night's last updates).

So if the #1 song sells 300k one week and the #2 song sells 200k that same week, if the #1 song increases to 400k and the #2 still sells 200k, you're going to see #2's ratios go down dramatically even though the sales are the same.

You have to look at ratios relative to everything else.

i thought applause could go till late october. that rihanna collab needs to come sooner than expected.

As of right now, the cut off ratio for the Top 10 is at around .3. So she has a lot of room to fall on iTunes and still be ok. Top 10 exposure is everything.

It has been obvious for a long time that the second week was her peak, it was obvious that she would drop to #8 on hot 100. I really don't see the reason for all the meltdowns today.

Very good chance Applause will pass Blurred Lines on Hot 100 before any more songs pass it.

but applause continues to fall on the hot 100 despite its radio growth

Most of the songs it passed on radio were dead in terms of sales.

It took Drake getting greatest airplay gainer to pass her. Previously to took Miley getting crazy streaming.

A bit late, but I can't believe so many of you are already making assumptions Applause is slowing down on radio after ONE update  If it's a consistant trend after a few days, then your assumption would be valid.

Right. Applause had three days of really crappy updates the week after the VMAs (including even one negative update) and people wanted her to move onto the next single and said Applause was over. It was only a few days after that that radio began picking it up in a big way and eventually started getting 2-3M overall updates
