Arturo 40,746
Artie, what point are you trying to make? Do you think the Christmas release has no negative effect on new releases? No I agree with you. Well it's not really something to agree on, it's a FACT that the christmas freeze damages songs and there are many examples of that. I was just stating that YDO was hurt more by WFL's massive success than anything.
Bitter 3,640
Fixed and YASSSSSSS Here's what I think should happen with the second single. Single:GYPSY Release Date: December 30, 2013 Promo: (1) Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve - December 31, 2013, (2) American Idol Season Premiere - January 15, 2014, (3) Grammy Awards - January 26, 2014 A ballad release would work well for several reasons. First of all, it's a perfect winter single, not to mention that it's just screaming for a Grammy performance. Additionally, it's initial release, coupled with the fact that it's a ballad, would spur album sales at a time when people have gift cards to spend, right after Christmas. Pop Art 1,773
bad romance was released in winter tho Bad Romance was released in late October, which is far enough from the winter freeze for it to have any negative effect on the song. And in actuality, Bad Romance was not a smash upon its initial release - it took the video to make it a smash. The only songs that ever really survive the freeze are songs that were already pretty big when the freeze begins.

Bitter 3,640
Gaga said herself she is more an album seller, she dont need big hits to sell AP on its first week, that's promo singles are only necessary. She can have those big hits after the album release, then that will keep the album selling well. A la Unorthodox Jukebox. Isnt it better that way? only if applause is doing good on radio/sales till ARTPOP drops
Klou 2,414
your hate for Ri  I don't hate her, I just want her to go the f*ck away for a bit. I actually don't hate any artist… I don't even hate Bruno anymore after seeing him in concert.

Runway 27,876
Whoa whoa what? Gypsy is a ballad? -Elle Magazine - It's a catchy, emotive ballad, the kind you close down the bar to, about finding a lover who accepts your transient lifestyle. Produced by madeon. it will smash
Pop Art 1,773
i really don't see any reason for a no winter release The excessive amount of Christmas and year end songs getting airplay will suffocate any song released after a certain point in November on radio, which will inevitably stifle any sales the song would be getting. That's why.
Hamlet 67
Whoa whoa what? Gypsy is a ballad? Yes, look in the news section. There are some excerpts from an interview and they say it's an electronic ballad and reveal some lyrics.
Nagini 3,054
I honestly think we're screwed no matter what lol. Lets start thinking about the 3rd single choice you're not screwed at all. if gaga's music is underperforming, her and her team are screwed. you're not profiting from her sales. and please stop being so pessimistic.
