Is he really releasing? Which song? :deadbanana:

I have no idea, someone mentioned here that he might be releasing a new single next week? lol. Although apparently he's shooting a new video now for the next single, so it's definitely coming sometime in the next week. Though I would guess prolly the week before or the same week as the album release.

Take Back the Night is literally the definition of a forgettable, mediocre radio song. Terrible. He should have put out something more innovative

Maybe he'll release that song where Jay Z is featured?

JT and Jay Z are like more than bff already. Bromance at its best. :hor:

That would mean three Jay-Z and JT songs in a year  :pukey:

I'm loving these amazing radio updates that Applause is receiving just as much as the next person, but what happens when Z100 and those other stations that currently have Applause on power rotation take it off of power rotation? I'm assuming it'll see quite a drop in daily updates. :ohno:  And when exactly would they take it off? Is there a certain time frame that they can leave it on? Or is the choice given to the radio programmer/company? I'm very confused.

I can't imagine anyone saying "Omg Royals this is mah jam!!"

Royals is my jam...

Like obviously I don't dance to it, it's not a dance song.  But Royals and Applause are my two favorite songs right now.  Not every song has to be upbeat for it to be great.

The video is really interesting and shines a new light on the song.  It's basically how about these affluent kids go and get messed up with violence and d--gs, but when it gets to be too much, they recede back into their money and luxury. Really applicable and a real social statement in this day and age if you ask me.

The song also talks about how Lorde doesn't get high off of doing these things.  She craves a different kind of buzz.

Plus, this girl is only 16 and writes her own music! For a 16 year old to write a song this mature and insightful is amazing!  The rest of her EP is amazing, too.

Just saying: Anyone who thinks Lorde doesn't deserve this success is just throwing a tantrum because it's pushing Gaga down a spot on iTunes. She's a 16 year old that is a genius, writes her own (mature) music, and has a flawless voice.  I don't care if you don't like the song, but I'm sure even Gaga would recognize that she's a gem.

the meltdowns will ensue.

But honestly I don't know how long a song stays in power rotation..

Roar has been on PR for weeks on some stations...

On UK spotify chart applause is n6 and roar is n11. why the hell they doesn't count streams ???????

That further solidifies Craig's point of international markets relying on Spotify and streaming services to listen to their music more than digital retailers.

She also reached her highest position (#17 and climbing) on Swedish combined charts, even though she started high on itunes and has slipped a bit. Spotify goes the other way.

Magoo pointed out that historically Gaga itunes sales are 6 times higher in the US than UK, but only 2.5 times higher in US in album sales. (And US has 5 times the population)
