They thought WorkB did 100k its FIRST DAY so that's not surprising.

That's an interesting figure.  The question is what did WorkB actually sell on the first day and is 100K way off the mark?

Simply working out ratios from the itunes figure at the end of its first day would give first-day sales of 46K.  However it's not as simple as that because of the way the itunes figures (kworb/live pop bars) work.  They are not a stop-start chart like the weekly digital sales with a beginning and end each week, but a continuous chart.  The result is that itunes figures are affected not just by that day but by what it sells on the previous day also.  So a song selling 50K/day continuously will achieve a higher position on itunes than one that sells 50K for just one day. The result is that first day sales are actually somewhat higher than the itunes position suggests.  Generally the rule of thumb is to add 50% on to the apparent sales..

Technically the way I presume itunes works is to have a tally to which the number of new sales is added over a particular period, say 2 hours.  Then at the end of that period, the total figure is depreciated by a factor.  I estimate that after a each period of 2 hrs the previous total would be reduced by 5.7%.  Then over 24 hrs whatever figure you start with will go down to half.

A model for WorkBs first day sales over the first 24 hrs matching with the itunes figures, is for sales in each 2 hr interval as

10K, 2K, 6K, 8K, 10K, 10K, 7K, 5K, 5K, 3K, 2K, 1K totalling 69K sales.  That model gives the itunes peak at 20 hrs and then the fall that was observed.

So 10K was sold between midnight and 2am then it dropped for the night, rose in the morning, and eventually sales faded away to very little once the fans run out.

So if 100K was said and it was actually 69K, a least it was correct to the nearest hundred.

Wreaking Ball video is a winner, not just because of controversy, but because the image of her nude on the WB captures people's imagination. Just like the weirdness of Bad Romance video or the cuteness of Call Me Maybe video. And people liked the song upon first release.

It's not tacky or ugly controversial (like her grinding Thicke at the VMAs).

Problem for her is that being nude all the time is going to wear thin quick. I think her new album cover is of her nude, who cares anymore?

So did Bad Romance and Telephone type videos. The public grew tired of epic imaginative long weird videos rather quicky.

Luckily Gaga isn't a one trick pony. I don't see too much else up Miley's sleeve, her live vocals leave much to be desired. Not trying to create a stan war, just my personal opinion.

Conversely, not everyone wants Gaga simply to be a fiercer version of Britney who sings better, works harder, and doesn't break down.

You can have a message without offensively targeting religious groups, like Gaga fans apparently think is "funny." You take literally everything to an extreme. She can't promote because apparently competing is out of her league, and she HAS to piss people off about religion or else she's Britney 2.0 :lmao:

She just used a metaphor. People should be more openminded... I love to see religious people get pressed when she does those kind of things. People should get more offended when someone shows her ass or her boobs in public for no reason.

This. Alot of those pressed people didnt even know what Judas was about. tbqmfh. Their either so ignorant or close minded to even consider it being a metaphor

This! I guess growing up catholic like she did I understood it better. Maybe she could have done a little more research on how others would take it outside of the grown up catholic bubble.

that's interesting. Either way, Britney doesn't even look like she's on track for outselling Gaga :p

No she can't, the religious conservatives will take offensive at anything short of conservative orthodoxy.

Just like PETA will cry bloody murder about ANY use of animals in videos.

And the PC Left why cry "cultural appropriation" at ANY reference to another race or culture.

Then they all wonder why pop girls stick to s-x, dancing, and break up songs.  :haha:

Just A Holy Fool

Blurred Lines is quickly becoming a non-factor. It shouldn't even be top 10 on digital this week.

Finally. Hopefully once 2013 draws to a close, I'll never have to hear that song again.

It's really down to whether Work Bitch can recover like Applause did with the GP once the fans are done with, but it's not looking good.
