I just noticed Applause dropped out of the top 10 in the UK now. I'm sure these international numbers are putting pressure on UMG, even with the US traction.

 Since 2011, I haven't seen any single released in the latter part of the last quarter of the year reaching the top spot of the HOT 100. Most chart-toppers between the November-December time frame have weeks or even months of build-up before they were really smashing the charts at that particular period. 2011's We Found Love and 2012's Diamonds were both released in late September. 2011's One More Night was a June release. 2012's Locked Out of Heaven was released on the first day of October.

If I'm not mistaken, the only single that was released on the November-December time frame and still hit the top of the HOT 100 on the same year was Katy Perry's Firework, well at least the most recent one that I could remember. That was way back in 2010. I guess the chances of a November release for any single becoming a smash hit is pretty small. If we follow history, I think an October release for the 2nd single of ARTPOP would be best right now. In that way, it could start growing before the Christmas songs start to be over-saturated in  radio airplay.

One More Night was just last year - Diamonds hit #1 after its 9 weeks at the top, on December 1. Locked Out Of Heaven came after Diamonds, on December 22.

If anything, LOOH and Firework are both perfect examples of songs hitting #1 and becoming huge during the holiday freeze. It isn't unheard of, and it shouldn't prevent Interscope from releasing the second single in November. That's when I hope they do - anything before that (especially something like early-mid October) would be way too early.

They need a single sooner rather than later. I can't at everyone discounting these god awful international numbers. She's not a US-only star. Actually, she's hardly even a US-centric star, nevermind US-only.

I don't mean in September, but November is MUCH too far.

If she's opposed to that, she at least needs to do a promotional single or something to keep buzz going overseas.

As much as I'd hate it, you're right.

If she's not going to do international promo, might as well release 2 promo singles like Katy.

Oh, yes. I forgot One More Night was just last year. It seemed forever.

OMN blocking GS for so many weeks was one of the best things I've ever experienced while chart watching :legend:

I just don't really know what's going on, so it's hard to say if she's going to do that.

There's no mention of any new single, any new promotional singles, or any new promotional SPOTS. We're kind of at a stand-still as to what the plans are, so.. Gaga herself hasn't really been saying much of anything lately which is odd

Although I don't think Gaga's international numbers are that good right now because I definitely won't dispute that, I've noticed that hits don't stay hits for that long overseas.

Her international PEAKS are still pretty good :p

Spamming stations is the worst thing you can do. Kiss 108 definitely won't want  to play it now if that's the whole idea.. lol

Applause is neutral yet again and and WMU is red yet again.
Why'd Berzerk get a dark green update though? Did he promote?

Also, do we get reports on international physical single sales? Because it seems Applause was released as a physical single in a lot of places like Japan, Germany, Austria etc.

I guess. I dont follow intl charting closely, I was just comparing her to other songs released recently like Roar (which is Top 10 still everywhere)
