Dark red update out of nowhere? Wtf Kworb. Get your **** together  :grr:

And a #6 debut seems nice to me. Paparazzi and Alejandro peaked at #6. Gaga is not Katy, she's not going to score 5 #1s in a row. She's always had moderate singles success, so imo Applause is off to a great start

 Agreed.

No one was here for BTW. It died after like a month.

I was here for it oh lol :awkney:

U GUYS I PREDICTED ON PAGE 282 THAT IT WAS GONNA BE #6 AND IT DEBUTED AT #6 OMG HANDS AT ME NOW

How? 218,000 is quoted for both digital sales and Hot 100 charts. I thought that number was without preorders. Is it actually including preorders? Or are preorders factored into the Hot 100 under some other category?

This, I'm so confused about this.

And what's that "complete my album" think? Why the sales would be lost tho? :awkney:

From what I understand the 218K does not include the pre-orders. I don't know how many pre-orders she got, but they were factored into the Hot 100, however.

When the album is released, any one that uses the "complete my album" option on iTunes will have their single sale deducted from that week's digital sales anyway. So if 100K people use the complete my album on 11/11, then whatever Applause sells that week will have 100K removed from its total.

Blurred Lines is going to be #1 forever. Nowadays getting to #2 is the real prize.

It happened with TEOG. The week BTW(album) came out, TEOG took a big dip on the Hot 100 because of this.

Too much confusion with these pre-orders tbh.

It's really pointless tbh. It's not like an album can run out of copies on iTunes

I still think that it's very funny how no one thought Katy would be a threat to Gaga's lead-single, besides chris. :dies: After hearing for the first time Roar I thought it's gonna underperform, tbh. It doesn't show any evolution from her past music, but it smashes. I guess that it's the fact that this song is so generic that you literally cannot dislike it. Very interesting...

But...if the preorders aren't included in the digital sales figure then how are they factored into the Hot 100 formula? Can anyone confirm?

I think this preorder situation will turn out to be very ineffective.
