Dangerous Man 9,245 Posted August 18, 2013 Share Posted August 18, 2013 As much as I hate saying this, but I'm now seriously having reservations about Applause ever reaching the top spot of the HOT 100 - regardless of how elaborate and extensive the promo is. The music video would surely help Applause, but Roar's getting its own music video as well. The VMAs would surely boost her sales, but so will Katy Perry and even Robin Thicke. The competition is just stiff. I can only hope that Applause will be able to peak at #2 eventually. Beyond that would be a real surprise to me. Yeah, this is more probably to happen. People will get confused and if the second single underperforms then we can say bye to the ARTPOP era. We know Interscope, they easily get alarmed and it's easy for them to rush release a song. Well they can always learn from their mistakes (if you're also referring to Judas/EOG). If they didn't I hope Gags leaves the label tbh It seems like RIGHT NOW they're not doing enough for her to succeed. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks tho. But if you really want to worry, worry about Applause's longevity, radio playing it, and it selling well if it stays in the charts long enough.
