Monsters are just ignoring the facts that Katy will get video also and it will even boost her sales even more+she's performing on VMA's too and if her performance will be better she will get more buzz and so on and it means bigger sales  from it,also she's doing promotion for Roar too shes not standing,Applause IS weak single you want it or not because even GP shows/tells that, she should have released stronger single. :coffee:

Applause is amazing, just needs a remix by another artist like katy. we'll do an all black feature but instead of men women. So beyonce will remix applause, nicki the next then rih, azealia, kelly etc.

Excuse me no. I will lose my respect for her if she ever release some random remix just to get a #1 hit.

With streaming and all the end-week gap shouldn't be THAT bad. If they include streaming (since it technically is a sale), they'll both be rather high.

Katy will end the week with about 125,000 streaming points and 500,000 sales, so 625,000.

Isn't the Hot 100 updated on a Tuesday? That being the case, Gaga could sneak in some extra points with the release of the music video. Even if it doesn't get the whole 13M in 24 hours record that everyone's hoping for, it could make at least 10M, in which case:

Gaga will end the week with about 275,000 streaming points and 250,000 sales, so 520,000.

Radio of course will widen the gap so it'll appear bigger, but hopefully it ends out as above. The sales are purely based on speculation and the views may not be counted though.

I don't know what I'm doing. :flop:

Digital Sales Estimates for the new sales week from itunes figures (6/7 days)

#1  544K Katy Perry, Roar
#2  292K Robin Thicke ft TI and Pharrell, Blurred Lines
#3  225K Lady Gaga, Applause
#4  180K Jay Z ft Justin Timberlake, Holy Grail
#5  153K Luke Bryan, That's My Kind Of Night

Applause dropped more than the expected 10%/day yesterday so prediction goes down from 231K yesterday to 225K

Figure for Applause DOES NOT include sales via album preorder - can add those on IF they are included in the digital sales

As new music, figures for Roar Applause and TMKON assume 10% loss of sales/day for remaining day of this week; though Applause has dropped 20%/day in the last 3 days

They can't proceed to the second single 3 weeks after the LEAD single is released. It will cause a much bigger mess. People will get confused and if the second single underperforms then we can say bye to the ARTPOP era.

I agree. IF Applause can't recover (#1 seems very unlikely, but anywhere within the top 5 is okay for me), the last thing I'd want is for Interscope to rush out a second single much faster than it needs to be released. I'd prefer if they just let Applause run its course, and move on to single #2 in October. Don't try to fix a mistake with another mistake.

I don't know what I'm doing. :flop:

If her worldwide views will be counted and she will only get 160.000 streaming points. ( 100 views = 1 sale). I expect something like 50.000 streaming points from Youtube.

I think the August 27th Hot 100 update will be what we want. If Katy's sales fall (which will likely happen in the second week) and Gaga's stay consistent for the next 7 days, in which we have a music video, high likelihood of promo, radio deals and a hyped performance to see the week out, her peak won't be too bad.

The streaming between her music video, lyric video and official audio will serve her well.

If Gaga uploads her VMA's performance to her account, would it count for streaming?

That'd be a massive advantage then. :excited:

What about the 19th and 20th MV views?

I don't know what I'm doing.

I think she can stay at 7 now until the music video is out then rise to 3 just hours after the release. Then she will keep fighting that week with blurred lines and hopefully katy to if she keeps getting red updates.
