Was wondering why my stations have only played it once or twice the day it was released, then spammed some more Blurred Lines

I am not against being positive, but I just don't want fans to have expectations only to be disappointed.

I just checked the top 5 radio stations in the country and all five of them have added Applause to their playlist already.

Too late.

I don't know why people thought she would slay Katy. I felt like it was obvious that shed have to work her way back to the top. How its performing now is only a disappointment because some people were led to believe she'd have Born This Way numbers when her hype is dramatically less than it was before.

Applause is doing fine and hopefully it will do better. But honestly I have no doubt in my mind that Gaga has better music on this album and her imagery has so far exceeded my expectations (excluding the face paint shes been rocking lately, that could go).

Klou probably knows how radio works more than any of us on this forum :deadbanana:

I don't know about that, but thanks Artie

People misunderstanding her tweet :rip: This not going to change anything, the video though CAN change something if it's good.

I've always wondered what she means when she says "impact radio." Could someone explain it to me?

Impact radio means that it will be on almost every radio station officially and played almost every hour. For example, my radio station plays Applause like 4 times a day right now, but when the 19th comes it will be played at least 10 times a day.

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.

How come this didn't happen when Marry the Night impacted radio though?

Everybody is confused about the radio impact. The 19th will be the day that Applause will officially get sent to the radios to be played almost every hour. Applause didn't automatically become a radio single when it was released midnight Monday. It has to be sent to the radio stations to be on rotation and right now they are playing it because we're asking them to.

We'll see how well the YT videos go once the music video is released and there are three videos with the same content to choose from :deadbanana: Really though, it makes me look forward to what's to come in the next few weeks.

I hope they'll delete those two we have now.

Otherwise it's pointless.

A lot of DJ's didn't spin Marry the Night because Gaga was overexposed at that point. She had no pull on radio. One Los Angeles radio DJ said that flat out.

So true, some people are celebrating like it will change anything. Every station that wants to play it, have already started. Yes, it will have an official date, but NOT RADIO DEAL. Maybe a little more station will add it, but that wont help that much. STOP guys, JUST STOP!

I think because it was near December and that's when Christmas songs start getting played.

The official pop adds date is in fact next week, however, the Clear Channel deal was moved up with the release and happened the first day. I don't know if Interscope has a plan for another radio deal on the 19th, although that would be very smart. 1-2 punch with the video.

I don't get why everyone is freaking out so much about airplay. She's getting big updates that artists DREAM of. We should be quite happy she's not getting an insane amount of audience gains now, because with the 8th day rolling effect, she will drop massively. Slow and steady wins the race.

We should be happy with how Applause is doing, because had this been any other artist, the success so far is incredible. If it, god forbid, under performs by stan standards, it has created a great platform for single two, where that will not be overshadowed by the insane radio airplay for single #1.

Chill guys. Request, share and watch the VEVO videos and do your part.

I think this means nothing cause radio is already playing it when they want to... unless they are planning some kind of radio deal, in that case it's gonna be much better.
