Arturo 40,746
Not really. :emo: I was in the car for a good hour today switching between 6 stations CONSTANTLY XM and FM radio, and it never played. I have not heard it on the radio once yet. Yes it is, it's getting amazing updates on radio

Squidward T 2,216
I heard Applause on 3 stations tonight
Arturo 40,746
You guys need to remember this song was suppose to come out on the 19th. She's not worried. She's got GMA and the VMAS. She will shoot right up. I have more faith with the GMA/music video just because the spotlight is on her with those things. As for the VMA's, Roar, Blurred Lines, and We Can't Stop are going to shoot up too :(
JBebop84 2
For some odd reason Blurred Lines reminds me of a Justin Timberlake song
Lorde 0
Part of the flop needs to be blamed on the rush-release of Applause. I wonder how things would be different if she actually released it on 8/19.

nonowoo 0
This tells us that Gagas fan base isn't as big as we thought it would be.. If she wants to come out on top and become the number 1 pop star again, she would need the GP's support. I think thats what most monsters want to see anyways, thats why theres so much negativity in here cause they're always use to seeing Gaga's success.. but not lately. IMHO, she needs to believe that just her fan base alone isn't going to get her to number 1, she will need to release a catchy anthem (different but not generic) that everyone can relate to. Only her fan base will understand what applause is about but not the GP. And I'm pretty sure that she would want to see herself on top as well, she works so damn hard and she deserves it so much, but we can only do so much... then its up to the GP... But I'll be happy with whatever she releases, but I will admit that I would be a bit disappointed if Katy takes her spot light.
gagabro 268
it hangs on the video It's true. Blurred Lines wouldn't be anything without it's very controversial video.

Bloody hooker 6,445
Think the reason why Applause is #7 is because there is barley any promo right now and there was a rush release. I'm actually not worried, because we have GMA and VMA's. Edited August 18, 2013 by Bloody hooker This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare. melodichard 3,769
It's true. Blurred Lines wouldn't be anything without it's very controversial video. I'm not sure I agree with this. A lot of videos have naked girls in them. What is so controversial about Blurred Lines? I mean, the song is really catchy. I think it just caught on with the GP
BarARTPOP 0
I have faith that the song will be a hit after the video and performance, but one thing is certain, and it's that you were wrong and it's being played on radio a lot. So even if you come back on Tuesday and the song is doing well (which I pray it is sooo much), you'd still be the one who was wrong. :) Yes it is, it's getting amazing updates on radio Well, i just checked all the AirPlay thing again and I was wrong and right, It plays a lot on the radio (although I've seen a lot of fans who say they dont hear the song on the radio at all) but the single only ranked at 28 and its not good at all, After the official release on Tuesday I believe it will play much much much more on the radio and then jump to #1 on iTunes again.
