Haus 152
Well, i just checked all the AirPlay thing again and I was wrong and right, It plays a lot on the radio (although I've seen a lot of fans who say they dont hear the song on the radio at all) but the single only ranked at 28 and its not good at all, After the official release on Tuesday I believe it will play much much much more on the radio and then jump to #1 on iTunes again. Don't get your hopes up. She was never #1 and I'm not sure if she ever will be. Roar is very strong and this is the US we're talking about. Lorde 0
you should take into consideration the competitors. most of the songs in the top 10 are radio-friendly and "relatable" Agreed, I also said that before. The song is just not relatable. Gaga needs to understand that the GP is not here for her "artistry". The verses in Applause are pretentious and do not make sense. GagaFate 0
The Gp just don't like it that's all.
jhonyguy04 3
Yeah the lyrics on paparazzi and Alejandro were so easy to understand.....
melodichard 3,769
The relatable argument is a load of crock. There are plenty of songs on the radio that make no sense but are still decent hits. I think the song just hasn't picked up momentum yet. She has the catchy, fun chorus. That's all she needs for the song to get radio airplay. jhonyguy04 3
Btw Kesha's songs were very relatable and look where that got her.

People are not waiting to hear the song at a Bar or at the Club. The song is an art stong It actually reminds me of Roisin Murphy. I love Applause but let's be honest it's not the "you are gonna pee in your pants" single they kept saying. I still love the song. Maybe the 2nd single will be the smash hit. gagabro 268
I'm not sure I agree with this. A lot of videos have naked girls in them. What is so controversial about Blurred Lines? I mean, the song is really catchy. I think it just caught on with the GP Blurred Lines had 0 buzz before the video. A lot of videos have "naked" women, but never fully naked exposing their breasts for all to see, and in such a playful way. It's very controversial. I think why Roar is such a hit is because it is straight-forward and instantly relatable. Personally, I think Applause's chorus is weak and it seems out of place in comparison to the verses. Blue Jeans 3,815
if those songs are unrelatable, why are they selling like hot cakes? i'm sorry but gagnam style is a song that nobody can relate in thUS, but it was a hit, so the relatable thing is not always true Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen

melodichard 3,769
if those songs are unrelatable, why are they selling like hot cakes? Because Gaga isn't cool anymore. If she released Applause during TFM era, y'all know it would be a smash hit. Even BTW. She took a major blow to her popularity these past few years and needs to work her way back to the top. BarARTPOP 0
#28 is AMAZING after 5 days without a radio deal. I know its good but still, it's not enough. I'm sure that if the single was released on the 19th and everything was going according to gaga plan Applause was in the top five on the radio, I want to kill whoever leaked the single Don't get your hopes up. She was never #1 and I'm not sure if she ever will be. Roar is very strong and this is the US we're talking about. Yeah I know, they prefer an average singer that sounds like a wounded manatee in live and sings songs with lyrics that suits a fail disney singers. What happens to you United States, What!
