leoj 2
Too much lgbt, and the BTW/Express Yourself controversy. yet the song still sold nearly 8 million world wide, and almost is 4x platinum in the U.S, making it her 4rth biggest hit.... I prefer an artist who stands for something, over an artist who releases pop songs just to make a name for themselves/rihanna/katy perry and their labels I think its because it's more of a dance club song; its not the kind of song you play anywhere else. People may be turned off by her seeming to ask for applause. I don't think they understand the lyrics either, myself included. nicki minaj's entire career is about praising her and how she's the #1 bad chick on earth ppl can relate to her though

I think most of the sales were because it was her first single after TFM which was when she was at her peak. I appreciate the message of BTW too, I just think it was probably bad for her career. It alienated a lot of her straight fans and the GP I know what she means, its not her asking for applause, but he GP may not know that and that may turn them off. I don't know if thats a reason why its not selling well, its just a theory. Edited August 17, 2013 by shane_c

ThomastheMonster 288
omfg it's #1 NO WHERE ANYMORE?! :megaflop: but really, oh well tbh. we did what we could do, bought the song, got it some streams with the audio + lyric video, now it's just up to Gaga's promo. Still love Gaga. Still love the song. Don't pay attention to ATRL or anything like that rn btw
ThomastheMonster 288
is it true that it's now #5 in U.S?

I have problems understanding the lyrics, I'm not english but I used to understand the songs and I had to search for the lyrics to understand it. yet the song still sold nearly 8 million world wide, and almost is 4x platinum in the U.S, making it her 4rth biggest hit.... I prefer an artist who stands for something, over an artist who releases pop songs just to make a name for themselves/rihanna/katy perry and their labels I prefer it too, don't get me wrong, but most of the casual listeners want something basic to dance (there's nothing more basic than "just dance gonna be ok, daradurubi just dance" for example xD but I love it like a lot of people). Also I still thinking she made too much lgtb thing with born this way. I'm gay but I consider myself normal, not different or special you know. Also, Gaga is always took with more criticism than other popstars, the more complex message she launch, the more hate she'll get... I prefer complex gaga but for her career is not the best. Spock 20,290
Nope it's good caus eit will debut higher next week the charts for this week are revealed on sunday FYI I was just wondering. I know that they get released next week, but it was a Billboard prediction. "Lady Gaga's "Applause" misses the Hot 100, although even with just two days of airplay it comes oh-so-close to the 75-position Radio Songs ranking with 16 million impressions via 210 stations. Still, it storms onto Dance/Electronic Songs at No. 16. "Applause" previews Gaga's "ARTPOP," due Nov. 11." http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/5650672/robin-thicke-leads-hot-100-for-10th-week-katy-perrys-roar-debuts?utm_source=twitter The song isn't officialy released on radios so we have to get our hopes for the next week Yes! I don't care that much about charts, but I do want it to have a good debut. With a Top 10 I would be happy who will love me when the night is over

Miky 9,487
Oh God... well we must take into account that there has been NO PROMO at all (except for 3 radio interviews but that¨s nothing), she should start interviews, talk shows etc., I guess she has this planned for next week. Too many people here with moral superiority complex.
