And y'all would blame Rih, Katy, Bruno, and JT's labels for shoveling out the coins for radio play.

Can someone explain me why Applause is charting 2 times?

I don't actually follow charts or know what all the pages of numbers mean, so maybe I shouldn't be in this thread at all....but...

Is it really bad to be #2??? Or even #20?

When you see a movie you really love, do you run home and obsess how that movie charts against other movies?

When you read a book you love, do you track it on the New York Times best seller list for popularity?

Do you know whether Beethoven or Mozart performances sold more orchestra tickets in 2013?

Do you know whether Picaso or Warhol paintings have sold for the most money?

I don't mean to be judgmental if charts are like your sporting event or something. I don't watch sports either, so it's just not in my nature for me to want to love something based on how much it crushes something that someone else loves. :hehe:

I'm happy to see Gaga do well, and the occasional #1 is a nice little treat I guess, but since she pushes REAL boundaries I don't expect her to be REAL popular. I just like to see her make enough money to keep going and do amazing performances and videos!

I'll leave the thread now. I was just hoping to offer a little perspective for those who seem so down over anything less than #1.

The two "versions" of Applause on the two versions of ARTPOP are what is causing this.

Hey Sara!! It's not so much she is at number 2. It is that she is dropping in sales at a very fast rate.

Thanks for the post Sara, for some of us, charts are very important. I think they're so interesting, but in times like these, they ruin the experience a bit.

Although Applause didn't meet our expectations for the first 2 days, I have hope that it can still be a hit. I think many of us should think like that. Although making fun if its position was fun last night for a bit, I think it's time to start looking at it in a positive way.
